Booked this for our winter get away End November 2023 so as we could visit York Christmas market. Upon arrival it was very busy as there was a function going on. Before we arrived there was brilliant communication from a gentleman called Nigel. Asking if we want to Dine in the hotel that evening. Upon Arrival great Check-in no issues. We had booked the cottages which are right next to the main building we had a lake view cottage. Had a couple of drinks at the bar where we got advised of a couple of places to Dine in and around the local area. which we did that evening. Travel to Selby to a Turkish Restaurant which was lovely. The staff at the hotel were super efficient and very friendly nothing was too much trouble. The food was fabulous and always served Hot. The cottage contains a very comfortable bed and settee and bathroom. The room was serviced every day and replenished with tea coffee and water. One evening we required an item so we rang customer service and they were there in less than a minute even though the hotel was busy that evening. The Location was great for us. We travelled in and out of York each day. Parking in York is quite expensive so we opted for the park and ride most of the time which worked well. We did take care into York on two occasions and paid for the parking. Great Hotel. Great Staff. 100% would stay again if in this area. Highly recommended

Lovely place conveniently situated yet peacefully quiet. Food both in the evening and breakfast was great, good portions and priced competitively as was the bar. The room upgrade from a twin to one of the cottages was much appreciated. I was here on business but would consider returning for pleasure. The area is pretty and there are lots of things to see and do.

Very reasonable and lovely staff. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, Nigel really made us feel at home and we had a great two night stay. The breakfast is amazing, looks just like the picture and the black pudding was delicious. I also had fish and chips on my first night which was completely and utterly and divine. I didn't get to try the sticky toffee pudding so will have to come back!

Had a lovely two night stay, rooms are clean, warm and comfy. Staff are friendly and very attentive. The food is wonderful, Nigel the Chef very friendly and lovely food. Location is great if you want to pop into York shopping but stay somewhere with parking and a nice quiet nights sleep. see you again soon.

Beautiful and peaceful place with warm and welcoming people. Very well preserved buildings yet tastefully renovated inside. Nice, clean, quiet rooms, warm shower, road is close but you can’t hear it at all. They offer a good variety of meals and drinks. Afternoon tea is really really good - sandwiches, scones, cakes and tea all very fresh and tasty. Really recommend to stay and experience the slow living in secluded and peaceful place like this boutique hotel.

A lovely stay in a great setting and amazing food. Slight issue with the fire alarm on the night due to a fault on a new system but out of the owners control and was handled superbly. Sadly my partner fell ill during the night due to a pregnancy/diabetic related incident and I cannot thank the owners enough for their help and prompt action in the matter. We really hope to stay again as the setting is lovely, great food, drinks and to top it off the service was second to none. Thank you, hope to see you soon

I've stayed in many top quality hotels around the world but Loftsome would definitely be in my Top Five! Genuinely! Taking my son up to uni, we stayed overnight here and had a fantastic stay! A very picturesque building, recently refurbished, it is of a very high standard. Bedrooms are a generous size and very comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities and modern clean bathrooms. We had breakfast and an evening meal. In the evening, we had brocoli and Stilton soup which was delicious. I had the best steak and mushroom pie I've had in my life (Don't tell my wife) and my son had a huge homemade burger. John Smith's to wash it down. Breakfast was of an equally high standard. The service was impeccable! Sue and her team bent over backwards to make us feel welcome and attend to our every need. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Next time I'm York way, no question it will be my hotel of choice!
