Warm, friendly and very attentive staff who tookcare of us and our 2 dogs. Clean rooms and comfy beds. Fantastic breakfast and a beautiful location. Definitely worth a visit. We will be staying again.

Nice room, comfortable bed, big shower (although the pull light switch in the bathroom didnt work). Decent pub good selection of beer with a lovely beer garden at the back. Staff were pleasant and smiling, always a bonus

Stayed here a few times on business - always a friendly welcome, a good pint and a sunny beer garden. Hearty breakfast, proper coffee and again, great service. My go-to place every time and would recommend.

This was nice little find and we have revisited since the last bank holiday. We stayed overnight on two separate occasions and found everything excellent: the room, the food, breakfast and all staff were very welcoming, kind and accommodating. Great atmosphere from the music. Food was reasonably priced and delicious. We will be back soon!

Have never stayed in rooms as local but come here for a decent fry up as well as lunch & dinner. Staff always nice, good pub if you like sports, big outdoor area at the back. Have recommended to friends who've been and love the food also. Right next to Selby Abbey surrounds by good amenities/shops/transport.

Been in today for food and ordered a chicken club sandwich and chip with coke
When arrived it have stringy type fluff in it so i told the lady and she changed it but again came with fluff on it so told them again the mentioned it might be the chicken so they sed they open a new bag and did a fresh one but yet again came bk with fluff on it they tryed making out it was the chicken but the 3rd time the fluff was on the out side on the bread . Ask for my money bk got 3.29 as it was a meal deal with drink they knocked 2 pound of for drink would of been nice for u to have maybe given me my drink for the problems i had 3 times . I mentioned it looks like it had come of a cloth or somet and they sed they dont use any cloth and there none in kitchen. And yet again sed it was the chicken . No apology on leaving

Second visit and had some food which I have to say was really surprisingly lovely. We had steak and Ale Pie and it was cooked beautifully and served with chips and peas and a pot of gravy. The staff were lovely and attentive. All round an enjoyable experience. The only issue was that they had run out of gas so unfortunately we were unable to have a beer as we requested. Instead we had wine. Not a huge problem but you wouldn't normally expect this in a pub!!!

Had a breakfast this morning,I will never eat here again,warm food on a cold plate means the food is stone cold in no time.
The food was swimming in grease and tasted vile.I still feel like throwing up.

Stayed Friday night. Very nice room. Clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. Had a Hugh breakfast the next morning. Well worth the £5 paid. Will definitely stay again.

Great pub but your service is diabolical!!!! Seven people stood waiting to be served and a dark haired bar maid walked away from the bar to the back of the pub picked up a dish and went into the kitchen. In my day you waited till nobody needed serving before you went and did that!!! Sort your bar staff out!! The number of people that comment and couples who split up to see who gets served first!!!!!!

Food service not good. 6 of us only 5 got food I had to wait for mine , everyone had nearly finished still not got it . Asked at bar then she went and got mine by this time everyone had finish . Bar maid had attitude.

But these two couldn't have done more & are a credit too the pub & i hope the manager will give them the praise they deserve

I booked this place as it was 15 mins from my husband's race day at Leeds. Gorgeous room. Lovely pub. Love the village of Selby! We had a fab time. Add on the bonus of the Anthony Joshua boxing match!! Friendly bar staff. Can't fault it.

Four of us went for a meal my husband an I having been in loads of times he has bacon burger an cheese.I have chicken melt today it was awful peas cold chips were thin an loads of bits chicken burnt.My husband's burger wasn't nice he said it tasted awful won't be back
