Had a lovely celebratory meal here with my parents - beautiful setting with delicious food and cocktails. We will certainly be back soon as the place definitely deserves more attention!
For the meantime, I hope the Hive doesn't mind me providing a few pointers to make future experiences even better:
- My mum enquired whether the crispy egg could have a hard centre and was assured it could, but when it came the yolk was runny. It looked delicious and my dad very happily ate it instead, but it wasn't what my mum had asked for and she would have ordered something else if told that it wasn't possible, so just make sure you provide accurate information/have proper communication with the chef!
- My dad says that if there's steak on the menu there should be Malbec on the wine list
- I would recommend reprinting your menus as they were a little dog-eared and also providing more than one cocktail menu per table

This is a great restaurant. We stumbled across it by accident when looking for a coffee outside as we were with the dog. And the food was great, had a very tasty veggie platter. The outdoor seating area is really nice too. Well worth a visit.

A wonderful new venue in Sevenoaks serving modern British cuisine. Great service matched with extraordinary food. Looking forward to going back once lockdown 2.0 is over.
This is consistently our favourite restaurant, and our recent visit I think was the best meal I have had anywhere in a long time. Great location, great atmosphere, decor, lovely loos (important to me!) amazing food, subtle attentive service. We love it and wholeheartedly recommend

Very accommodating and great service from nice people.
The food was excellent and the portion sizes were just perfect. Quality over quantity.
One nit to pick, it was a very cold day and we were across the courtyard from the kitchen (I think). The food was on the colder side once at the table so if I were to make a minor suggestion, I think perhaps warming the plates would be advantageous.
We had a lovely meal here just before Christmas. We will be coming back.
Lovely lunch of small plates. It's such a treat to have small portions of lots of things. I loved the chicken wings, the smoked fish. The charcuterie and local cheese platter was particularly good. Service was lovely and the restaurant decor really pleasant. There is seating outside which looked very inviting but unfortunately rain stopped us using that space. I would highly recommend a visit.
Lovely little outdoor courtyard, nestled off the road so fairly quiet. Beautiful Acer tree is the centrepoint for an outside deck area, on a Sunday afternoon there was a Guitarist playing some acoustic tunes (no singing) which were great! Light food options were good, plus a good cross-selection of wines. Wait staff were very friendly (although did need to prompt again to have the desert menu brough out, they simply got distracted, but not an issue).
Would classify this as a 'Hidden-gem' and rounded off a lovely afternoon visit to Sevenoaks (from Bromley)! Would happily visit again.
Lovely restaurant. 4 stars as it it is overpriced, although the quality of the food is excellent.
I had the lamb that tasted beautiful even though it was about 75% fat.
Even so, I will definitely return.
Amazing Food, atmosphere and service.
Last night we attended the first Tasting event that Hive have hosted. The whole evening was amazing, the food, the wine and the service were all first class and was well worth the money.
Can't wait for the next trip to Hive!

A wonderful romantic evening for two.
What a wonderful place for a summer al fresco dinner!
We visited the Hive restaurant on Saturday evening. We were offered a table in the courtyard garden, under the large 70 year old maple tree.
What can I say... one of the best meals we’ve had in a while. The food was delicious, the staff were attentive, welcoming and could not do enough for us. Even the owner came over to welcome us.
We had the Sprats and the Halloumi for starters - the sprats were fresh and crispy and the Halloumi was spicy and full of flavour. For mains we chose the Scallops (very tender) and the Sea Bass with polenta chips and dolphinoise potatoes. Both a delicious combination of flavours.
And the desert...well, hands down the best sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever had!
As my partner doesn’t drink alcohol, the barman made her two special mocktails. She could not be happier!
The atmosphere of the courtyard garden is so lovely, with the subtle music in the background and the fairy lighting around the maple tree it sets the perfect scene for a great relaxing evening.
We will definitely be coming back and we’d highly recommend!
Well done Hive, just what Sevenoaks needs.
Enjoyed some pre-dinner cocktails here shortly after it opened and just after the first lockdown lifted. Lovely venue and while we didn't sit outside, on a warm evening the courtyard would be a lovely spot for a drink or dinner. Good to see this kind of place opening up in Sevenoaks!
Good food well flavoured. Small portions. The downside is very noisy and crowded and long wait time for service but I suppose they are making up for lost time, so understandable.
