Popular with families and couples alike, this buzzing roadside pub is deservedly popular. Large car park means no problems parking.Good value, tasty food with decent portions - good quality for its price point. The menu has mainstream appeal with popular pub classics plus daily specials. Good selection of drinks including 3 real ales on tap. Enthusiastic and friendly staff. Met a group of friends here for an evening get together with food. Everyone had a great time and complemented the food. Will happily return.

What a fantastic pub, first time in going there for a spot of lunch with the mother, good menu, lovely range of specials at good prices. I love a proper slice of pie, not a dish with a lid and when asked if it was pastry top and bottom, the member of staff said "its a pie, not a lie", which I liked and was sold. We even stayed for pudding as it was such a nice atmosphere. Staff were lovely, not a long wait for food and it was beautiful, mother left nothing on her plate. By the time we left, the garden was packed. I would highly recommend this gem of a pub.

I had Sunday Lunch here with my family last weekend. 4 adults, 4 children and 2 border terriers and we were seated in the conservatory on a large table which on the day was the only slight disappointment as it was a bit warm and away from the lovely atmosphere in the pub itself. Despite being busy, the staff were extremely friendly and the children were given things to do while we waited for our order. The food itself was really excellent. Roast beef and turkey cooked beautifully and the best pub roast dinner I’ve had. The children portions were just right and overall I’d thoroughly recommend the Horse and Groom if your dining on the Island.

I have to say, this was probably the best pub food experience I have ever had. The staff were very welcoming to our family and dog and had good humoured banter throughout. The service was rapid and accommodating, altering parts of the meals for our personal preferences. The food itself was excellent in quality and quantity. It is rare that a meal is too big for me to finish but this very nearly beat me. Very fair value price wise as well. The whole experience was genuinely flawless. People are all too often very rapid to complain but rarely take the time to compliment a job very well done, that is what I want to do here. We will definitely be going back as well as recommending to everyone we know. Top class. Thank you.

Just had steak and ale pie it's out of this world. Not having any teeth, it just melted in my mouth it was nice to eat a meal without chewing it for a long time. My wife had Rumpsteak cooked to perfection when we vist the isle of wight again. we would return to have another fantastic meal, well done, horse and groom pub staff, A+

Spent lunch at the Horse and Groom today and was not disappointed. Good spacious pub with indoor and outdoor seating and excellent access all round. Good facilities for the kids with a big outdoor play area with climbing frames and crazy golf. Good choice of meals available, do bear in mind that if you're seating outside there is a reduced menu and some COVID restrictions are in still in place. Good choice of meals available, well presented, kids and veggies are well catered for.
