Excellent from start to finish. Big shout out to Danielle who if I could give 6 stars out of 5 I would. Looked after us for my birthday meal. Would highly recommend this place. Top marks all round. Food amazing.

My experience of this place was perfect. The staff are welcoming, pleasant and helpful. The tables are spread, so enough room to maneuver around the tables. The food is second to none. Perfectly cooked, not over-priced, and enough on your plate to fill you.
The 4* rating for the location is simply that the car park is relatively small and we had to park along a nearby road. Just proves how popular this place is. Highly recommend.

We recently had dinner and stayed over for bed and breakfast. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The food was excellent as was the service. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. Everything in the well equipped room was really clean so a big well done to the housekeeping staff!!

The rooms are beautifully furnished with fittings and details of a very high standard. Very welcoming staff and great service. Dining on a Saturday provided a lively experience and judging by the numbers present We would think booking would be essential. A lovely hotel which we are happy to recommend.

Super lunch. Dog friendly if you eat in the bar area which is lovely. The food was excellent. A very good wine list and fresh iced water. About £30 per head for one course with drinks. Highly recommend. One draw back is the parking but hey ho it's a little old world village!

A destination worth reaching!
Good food with produced to a high standard and served by excellent staff. My family stayed overnight and were mightily impressed by the rooms and how well they were insulated from any noise from other guests

Second review added on 26th July 23.
Together with a friend we decided to have lunch at The Devonshire Arms. The area where it’s situated is beautiful as is the building and interior. We hadn’t booked as it was an impulse visit and we were welcomed and shown to a table in the restaurant. Our orders were taken promptly and the member of staff that served us was a lovely, smiling young lady who was very polite. All good so far.
I ordered the Cesar Salad with chicken and my friend, a sandwich option with fries.
When the food came it looked delicious and beautifully presented. Unfortunately for me, I found that the chicken salad had a strange taste. It could have been the seasoning, but I persevered and ate a little over half of the food. When the young lady came to remove our plates she asked if it had been okay. I explained that to me, I thought it had a strange taste. She was polite and apologised and said she’d let the chef know. When we were ready to pay the bill, I asked the young lady what the chef had said regarding my food. She said that he had tasted a lettuce leaf from my plate and said it was fine and another customer had also had the same as myself and that had been eaten, so it must have been ok.
I felt a little disappointed with this explanation, however, we will go again and try a different dish.
I would just like to say, that if this review gets a reply, I hope that it’s a polite one as in all we had a lovely time. Thank you.
SECOND VISIT!
Again, service was outstanding. Two of us had the Steak and Ale pie with chips and vegetables. My husband had the hanging Chicken Skewer. The pie was absolutely delicious! Filled with tender steak and a beautiful rich gravy and the pastry crisp and tasty. The chips and vegetables were also cooked to perfection. The chicken was tender and coated in a beautiful seasoning. The plates were empty by the end of the evening! We shared a bottle of red wine which was also delicious. A BIG thank you to John and his wonderful team at The Devonshire Arms. We will definitely return, and very soon. 🥰

What an outstanding place. We were a large family party celebrating a big birthday, the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly, noisy and excited children were given their starters quickly! The food was superb and beautifully presented. The staff were very pleasant but not intrusive. We were so impressed.
