We were seated in a room out of the main bar area which granted us a nice quiet, relaxing experience. Drink and food were served quickly after being ordered.
Everyone in our party of 6 opted for a Sunday roast. All three meat options of beef, lamb & chicken were selected and served amongst the 6 of us.
No complaints at all. Generous servings and all well cooked.
Desserts were very good too.
Out and about today and stumbled on this place by accident. Went in and were greeted by a lovely guy who was friendly and polite the whole way through our meal. The food was really lovely couldn't fault it at all. The portions were great, and one thing I will say is that their coffee is actually hot. Thank you. If we are ever in the area again, we will be back xx
Absolute amazing country pub for Sunday dinner. The food was fantastic, generous portions too. Great atmosphere and look to the place. The staff were very polite and helpful. We will definitely be visiting again very soon!
We came for the beef short ribs, but they weren't available, so ended up ordering the Pistachio mousse stuffed chicken breast, my dinning companions ordered the burger and Pan Fried Hake, each of the dishes wer amazing, cannot fault anything on our plates. The service was attentive and just a lovely and relaxed vibe. I will aim to return next time I'm in Sheffield
Held my brother in laws 60th birthday gathering here Sat 7th Oct. There were 21 of us and so we had booked the small function room. Staff accommodated our celebration requests and were very friendly. Food was very tasty and good portions Would certainly recommend this place if you are looking at your own special events.
Rang ahead for lunch and friendly staff told us no need to book. We had a lovely table in the dog friendly lounge directly adjacent to the bar, with 2 excellent steaks, done perfectly authentically blue for mine, (which is a rarity nowadays with some kitchens) just before they closed for lunch. We were offered desserts too even though the kitchen had closed and had sticky toffee alongside Bakewell. Lady running the bar was accommodating both lounges and the bar by herself, and was always attentive and observant to the table despite juggling tables on both sides. Big bonus for us was the quiet table in the corner with dog friendly lounge. The pub itself it situated in the lovely small village with a really broad menu of not pub food basic, but a well presented selection, and is only a short drive from the various walks and scenery nearby, and a short stop off on the way through heading north or south on the M1. Really worth seeking out and definitely recommended. Thank you!
A quick unplanned visit for Sunday Lunch. Excellent quality food and drink in a very traditional English pub, this all made for an excellent visit. Service was largely very tentative.
Awesome food & fab service. Also the massive selection of starters, mains & desserts that were gluten free left me spoilt for choice.
A wonderful, quaint little pub. Amazing food, excellent service and friendly staff. Caters for vegan and vegetarians which was a bonus. Will definitely be visiting again. 👌
Called in Thursday lunch, sat in the bright front room with the sun streaming in, very pleasant. (Looked at the other room which was very nice but a bit more cosy and dark.) Served very quickly with drinks at the table. Food was a little slow to arrive but it was worth the wait as it's obviously all freshly prepared. Fantastic Fish & Chips and Sausage & Mash. Ordered desserts and coffee. The coffee was served promptly but again we had to wait a while for the desserts but once more well worth waiting for. Jaffa cake cheesecake & ice-cream and Hazelnut parfait with fabulously tart red berries which was refreshing and a bit out of the ordinary. Generous portions for both main course and dessert. Hadn't visited for years but will certainly be going again and pleased to see the revolving door is still in use!
