Great staff and amazing food � so happy we can walk to the best pub /restaurant in the area by far and beyond
Great food at good prices in a friendly pub with plenty of period charm.

Meals for two starters. Came to £50 I had prawn cocktail, came with brown bread in a massive fish bolw thing. Preitty good.
Chez had battered mushrooms (only got about 4 but said they were nice).
I had hunters chuicken for main.
Chez had the mixed seafood grill. Really nice place, they sell John Smiths (I had 2 pints) and Chez had the house wine (2 glasses) there were loads of different ones for her to choose from.
Will definately be going again.

I've had better steaks, but for the price £50 for three of us wasn't bad including a bottle of wine and 2 pints of John Smiths.
Ohh you get a free glass of whine when you add yourself to the mailing list on their website. Went again on my birthday seeing as they gave me a free bottle of Champaign. Lovely meal too. Nice cold John Smiths.
A small, friendly pub located just outside Eckington (located inbetween Sheffield and Chesterfield). The pub is seperated nicely between the restaurant and the bar. The restaurant offers good tasting meals with good portions.
In the bar there is plenty of room for all the customers, and is a great place just to go catch up with people and have a chat. The bar staff are always friendly and enjoy having a laugh with you.
Nice Pub, unusual but good menu very pleasant staff but not pushy its not as if they are trying to get rid of you in fact just the opposite.Tables are cleared quickly but you are left alone to consider if you want more food or drink.Used it many times with visitors from outside the area and also with family and they love it and they only live up the road fair praise indeed.
Staff were very friendly. Food was so tasty and very nice. I had lamb and hubby had steak. I actually told my husband i'm dumping him for the chef and didn't matter if male female or non binary haha. But i had to change my mind by the end of the night as my husband had the door key. Hey ho, i will be back for the chef another day or maybe just the yummy food. Really enjoyable night. Thank you.
We had the lamb rump and the three cheese and mushroom pizza and it was absolutely gorgeous! Coming from a pregnant lady I could've eaten it over and over again. The service was lovely from entering to leaving. Felt very welcome and highly recommend to anyone.
We arrived early for drinks and enjoyed the side bar area for half an hour or so. Bar staff were welcoming and friendly. We were seated at 7pm on time and in a position that suited the two of us. The service was prompt and just enough time left to decide. The food was excellent and both dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert! Maybe next time?
The atmosphere was vibrant and warming, the staff were friendly and very accommodating since they were very busy all night!
It was my birthday and they secretly brought out a cake that was given to them earlier in the day and then all sang happy birthday to me. It was a lovely meal and the food was gorgeous, we will definitely be visiting for food and drinks again.
Had a lovely trip to Sheffield from Brighton and came across this pub as it wasn't far from our hotel.
What a gem! Staff were amazing, everything was reasonably priced and the roast dinner was hands down the best I've ever had at a resturant/pub. Absolutely outstanding! I wish I didn't live so far away!

Me and my son booked a table for Sunday lunch (as a super rare treat!), we spent a lovely afternoon working up an appetite walking the dog in Eckington woods - so when we arrived in our outdoor gear we felt a little out of place. I was disappointed that when we arrived and I explained I had booked a table the manager just pointed to a free table and didn’t even give us a menu. My son had to go and find us one, despite everyone else being warmly greeted and shown to their table with menus.
Anyways, it was busy and the staff seemed quite stressed. We went ahead and ordered at the bar. I had the chicken roast and my not-so-little 11 year old ordered the dirty burger.
He said it was the best burger he’s ever had! 10 out 10, and the kid has had a lot of burgers in his time!
The roast was tasty, but I was a bit disappointed in the roasties because they looked amaaazing but were clearly old & tasted like they had been reheated in the microwave. They looked like such good roasties too, but the crisp was no longer crisp and more chewy like what you get when you’ve fridged and reheated a roastie. I wouldn’t mind but for the price of the roast I expected they would have been fresh on the day.
Other than that, it was lovely! Yorkshire was super tasty!
I would have mentioned this to a member of staff but after being served our food nobody came back to check on us anyways. Would definitely come back to try a burger myself as my son polished the whole plate!
Attended a baby shower total 24 in our party. We all ordered different meals which all arrived together. Food was very good and service was great. Had a wonderful time
Outstanding food. One of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time. Quite a long wait for food though as it's very busy even on a Thursday night. However this just highlights how good it is. The only criticism is that it is very pricey.
Fabulous Sunday lunch. Food was hot, tasty and a great sized portion. Grandkids loved it. We we went for my husbands birthday. Great service, waitress was lovely. Have already recommended. Will definitely come again for Sunday lunch. Really good price.
Everything was lovely, the food, the atmosphere.
The staff were attentive. The restaurant was nice and clean. The only downside was the price of the drinks. Quite expensive.
