We had the loveliest afternoon tea. Hadn't been to this cafe in many years and it didn't disappoint. The food was fresh and presented beautifully. There was too much to eat so we took a couple of cakes home with us. The service was excellent, with friendly helpful staff. It was busy when we arrived

My husband and I frequent Buttercups several days a week and it's the best coffee shop/cafe in Hillsborough. Cupcakes, scones and cakes are all home made and delicious.
Everything is spotless, the staff are all friendly and the food is cooked to order.

Nice little tea room/cafe/cake shop, tucked away on a side street. A limited menu of food other than cakes, but what they do, they do well and fresh cooked to order.
