We used the outdoor cafe area, rather than the pub. Had a good coffee, milkshakes, and smoothies out facing the park. Would happily come back :)
Friendly staff were preparing the drinks outside and open for a chat... Which made the service a bit slow.
The menu looks extensive and looking forward to come back for lunch soon!

I had a vegan pizza and my fellow dinner had a steak pie. Both delicious. Lovely to see a mix of family, some playing the pubs game and on people with well behaved dogs. Would definitely go again.

We chose the Waggon and Horses as the venue for the wake following our dad's funeral. We really can't fault our experience. Ellen and the team were so accommodating, flexible and supportive right from the start. We had half the pub for our sole use, with our own toilets. The room and the toilets were clean and the room had a cosy feel yet easily accommodated a large number of guests. The cold buffet looked and tasted great. We were looked after really well at what was a very difficult time.

Great pub the staff are sooo friendly, very knowledgeable about the beers and have great rapport with all the customers. Have tried the food twice pizza burnt and no pizza cutter as apparently 'they have been stolen' and burger (one beef and one chicken) both dry and served with burnt chips. Not being awful but we are chefs so know the difference between good bad. Anyway we still go and have drinks as the team are welcoming and the options on the bar are varied and served well. Clean and tidy inside and out.

Impromptu Sunday lunch - absolutely delicious food. Quick and very efficient service too which is a winner with a 5 year old. Adults had beef shoulder Sunday lunch and my son had the pizza. Would highly recommend

Visited after a family memorial service and arrived very early but staff were extremely kind and found us a table. Excellent food and service. Lovely relaxed cosy atmosphere . Would really recommend.

I had a really delicious gluten free house burger today. They were ace with allergen understanding and despite being super busy (due to the teachers strike) with loads of unexpected family diners the staff were positive, polite and efficient. Having worked in the service industry for over twenty years myself I can confidently say the team did a great job. Superb all round.

Went for a Sunday Roast, good service, good food. Not necessarily the cheapest place but is good value for money. Left feeling full. It has Vegan Sunday Roast options which is rare. Right next to a lovely park for a stroll too which is great.

Being a regular customer, I have nothing but glowing praise for all members of staff employed here, especially Chloe and Wolf, plus the entire management team.
Staff who served our group on 8th May were exceptionally well versed on the menu options overall and also knew what was suitable for my wife who has coeliacs disease and what items were no longer available when ordering.
Most reassuring was that the allergy warnings were taken seriously and the appropriate advice and caveat was provided at the point of taking our order.
Thank you for making the experience thoroughly enjoyable for

We held my Father in-laws wake here yesterday. From the first email to everything being prepared and ready for when we arrived it was all perfect. Thank you, it made a very stressful time much easier.

I have just arrived only to be seated and leave within 5 minutes. I have coeliac disease and there was a total of two available items - granola or a salad. As it was lunch time granola didn't seem ideal, and salad was not what I fancied.
I am so disappointed.
The place looked nice and for a drink it would be OK but I won't be returning for food.

We visited for my son's 15th birthday, I apologised as we were 15 minutes late, the staff couldn't have been nicer.
The atmosphere was brilliant, service even better, little things like the waitress recognising my partner didn't have a steak knife (my son had pinched it) and bringing another over AND taking the one she had been using away instead of leaving it cluttering the table, the food was amazing, from my chowder to the steaks and even the birthday boy's pizza!
Well done guys, food and service like this costs a lot more than my bill elsewhere, keep it up please, we'll be back!

Been here a couple of times for breakfast. Really good food. Great selection of Gins . Dog friendly. Great staff.
Would highly recommend.
One criticism need better glasses for gin and tonic. Don't like it served in wine glasses.

Bit disappointed in the bacon and avocado salad today... have never seen such a poor attempt! Less than a quarter of an avocado (if that even) and a tiny amount of crispy bacon. Couldn’t really call it an avocado and bacon salad. The waiter kindly brought us some more avocado on request but think you need to address this in general!

Great value Sunday roast - nicely cooked and very tender beef, great Yorkshire pud with rich gravy. We had a huge party and were catered for well with no fuss. Small plates starters were great, particularly the crackling. Would recommend giving it a whirl

We went for dinner on Sunday and had one of the best roast dinners I've had in a pub for a long time.
Generous portions (make sure you are hungry!)
I had the pork and my hubby had the beef. They were both fabulous.
Music was great.... as with true north pubs. Staff great and attentive. Kids food was nice enough (pizza / ham egg & chips)
It's not as cosy as the broadfield - and lacks the atmosphere... granted. But... ideal with kids and within walking distance.

Amazing food, great atmosphere and fab venue! Can't wait to come back again. I'd recommend trying the pizzas and the lemon meringue for dessert is just delicious.

Very limited menu, inattentive staff, no atmosphere at all. Sandwiches come on "fresh focaccia" - i couldn't even cut one half of my sandwich with a knife so definitely not fresh.

We visited today with our dog & we were very impressed. Friendly attentive staff, nice decor & relaxing music.
Dogs are allowed in part of the pub & staff were more than happy to get her a water bowl.
We had a lovely pint of true north pilsner with our lunch. The menu was varied & prices to suit all.
We look forward to trying the evening menu.

Had a lovely meal here last night with a group of friends. Staff were very helpful, food was yummy, warm cosy atmosphere and simply a great pub and not too pricey either!

Best roast dinner I've had for AGES was eaten at the Waggon today (and I'm picky!) - the pork was moist, there was plenty of cracking and the potatoes and veg were so tasty!! Oh - and the yorkshire puds - BIGGGGGG :) Heartily recommend!!!! well done chef!

Thank you for great service today on my 1st visit felt like the queen! .. cakes went down a treat! Thank you so much!!! Will definitely be coming down again (hopefully child free next time lol)

Been in here a lot recently and enjoyed it , on Sunday I walked 2miles to the wagon for tea, had a drink while we decided what to have , only to be told the kitchen was not taking orders due to how busy they were.
Fair enough, businesses get busy , but it was no where near as busy as bank holiday weekend and to refuse an order I think was bad, manage expectation , take an order but say there's a 45min wait ( not a problem) then it's my choice whether I order or not.
I left and went to the robin hood , they were busy and were still taking orders
I was in favour of the extra tables in the park , but if they can't service the tables they have now what's the point ?

Went on Sunday. Service was very poor. Lots of staff on but none s of them seemed to know what to do or what was happening or they were stood around chatting..... a very poor second to the broadfield.... food ok though....

Had a lovely meal...I'm gluten free and trying to be vegan, so I can be a pain to feed, but it was no problem at all, good choices, tasty, clearly marked options on the menu...the rest of the menu is great too for non Veggies...we will be coming back! #veganuary #sheffieldvegansandvegetarians
