Lovely atmosphere, very warm and welcoming. The lady who served us was lovely, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and very filling. We had lamb that was so tender we didn't need a knife to cut it. We'll be going back sooner rather than later. Also pet friendly. Highly recommended.

Genuinely gluten free! I was not unwell after eating here, which is rare for me to eat out and not have a gluten reaction. Well done to the Duke of Leeds kitchen staff for providing a meal that had not even a trace of gluten in it. Thank you. Usually I’m unwell after eating “gluten free” food in restaurants or takeaways. But not this time! Thank you!
It was also truly delicious. Really really good.
Two of the three servers were friendly and very helpful.
Clean, nice furniture, well maintained car park. The toilets were clean but very cold!
If I’m in the area again, I’ll make a detour to revisit.

We went for a late lunch after a walk nearby and so happy we stumbled across this place. Great food at great prices. Best fish finger sandwich ever! Lovely staff. We're not local, so can't make it a habit, unfortunately.

Fabulous Friday eve dinner for 2!
Gtest atmosphere where locals meet travelling through strangers, friendly forthcoming staff and really good Pub Grub! My favorite over n over again BBQ ribs with Large Onion rings, coleslaw, I dressed side salad n chunky chios and complimentary sauces as much as you want!
Always going beyond the mile for the customer!
Lamb steak to die for my hubby says!
We recommend if you want a local, chain free pub with good vibes, friendly people, forthcoming staff and great food! Thank you Paul the chef and Ian the Landlord!

The food and service was absolutely amazing, couldn't complain at the price either. Food was out quickly and was hot, the pie and chips are to die for, will definitely be returning.

Excellent service, choice and quality of food. A pre- birthday celebration and we had a mix of roast dinner, fish and some of them also had desserts.
All well presented, piping hot and great friendly service too. Well done Team!!
We hope to be back!

Warm and friendly welcome, attentive but not obtrusive service, great ales and top notch classic pub food. Locally renowned for the fish and chips, it doesn't disappoint. Cooked in a proper range in beef dripping, the taste is as good as anything in Whitby.

Called here on recommendation and thought we'd give it a try.the pub is set in the old part of Wales village across from the old village church. when entering there was a warm welcoming atmosphere with locals chatting at the bar and a roaring log burner glowing.there are plenty of tables and the all room is tastefully decorated.we was shown to our table of joise and the lady took our drinks order.we also ordered the steak which when arrived was cooked to perfection. The lady who served us was very helpful and could not do enough for us, so was very pleased with the service.there is a car park at the rear with plenty of spacers. Definitely will be returning.

My wife & I decided to give the duke of Leeds a try for a meal last night having not been there for some time & I can tell you it was fantastic from start to finish . The staff were friendly , a good pint & the food was excellent . It’s great to have a local pub / restaurant on your doorstep so I highly recommend anyone to go there for a lovely night !

Had a lovely meal. Service was great and they even brought out a cake and sang happy birthday to the birthday girl. We have eaten here lots of times and have always had good food and good service. The Sunday lunches are the best. Well done to Jill and the staff for doing such a good job

The food was very good. The service was timely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The overall atmosphere was friendly and it was a most enjoyable experience. All of us in the party enjoyed themselves. Plenty of parking and the toilets were clean. Bonus of personal products available as well. Nice touch! Would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Lovely pub. I visit often with my children to use the upstairs room. they love it. and its nice to be able to go out as a family or with friends for food and the children don't have to sit still. they can play in a clean and safe play area. all staff are lovely, especially young girl behind the bar (sorry I don't know your name) she always makes us feel welcome and charms my little boy with lollies as we leave. Food is always lovely too. only negative thing I can say is that the upstairs room could do with abit of music on rather than silence.
also had my little girls birthday meal as a private event, also in the upstairs room in November. This was a large group, and we where given the choice to order food before but decided not to, so was told their may be a wait. there wasn't, the food all came out together, lovely and hot no problems other than the children's came last. but they where all given a free ice cream because of this. defo recommend.

Just had the best steak ever. Cooked to perfection. Chippy style chips were nice aswell n I've never had such nice onion rings they were clearly freshly homemade.. Even the tomato was cooked properly and I find that rare. 100% recommend. Good service too.

I made a detour to call in halfway through a long drive as I had heard that it was worth a visit. I was not disappointed. Great menu selection, great food , with very friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble and as I do this trip fairly often I shall be back. It certainly lived up to it's excellent reputation and if I was local I would be eating there at least once a week. The locals are very lucky indeed.
