The shop offers a good selection of various types of furniture. It's great to have a place in the city that offers an opportunity to browse the showroom., especially bearing in mind that we no longer have a department store. Overall a good experience. Hopefully coming back!

Wow! What a place this is! I called here on a Saturday as I was looking for a new dining table and chairs. To say I was spoilt for choice is an understatement! The range of furniture on display here is simply incredible. As one might expect, some of the furniture is pricey - very pricey! 10k for a dining table anyone?! This aside, there are also selections available for more modestly sized budgets, and it was actually quite fun guessing the price of some items and being surprised when they weren't as expensive as you thought they might be. There's no pushy sales tactics here either. Staff are available and on-hand if you want them, but other than that, you're left alone. This is something I appreciate as I can't think of anything worse than walking into a shop and being set upon by an eager salesperson. It's nice to find an independent furniture store that is able to offer such a wide range of products on display. This is something you don't see much of these days and I always feel it's important to keep places like this alive. If you're on the lookout for a piece of new furniture, or even just a decorative item like a lamp, ornament or mirror, be sure to call in here. You won't regret it. Just make sure you give yourself enough time because it's easy to get lost!

High end quality furniture at 'keen' prices (comparable with the internet and competitors). All of the staff have a 'nothing is too much trouble' way if working and it is still a family owned and run business. A very rare thing in today's corporate/monopolised world of faceless retail parks and online stores. The café is fantastic and if you are lucky you may bump into Mr Ponsford when he has his afternoon tea. Highly recommended if you want something special and long lasting as part of an overall shopping experience you cannot replicate elsewhere. Disclaimer - I am now an employee so the above could be considered biased - However I stand by my review as I was a long time customer and I ran a concession inside Ponsford for many years before joining recently.

So where do we start? Having previously made the mistake of buying a carpet from a well known chain and it having to be removed as damaged, we decided to have a look at Ponsford. We have previously bought bedroom furniture and were really impressed with the good old fashioned customer service. The selection of carpets was very good and the sales person took the time and effort to advise around the best type of carpet for our stairs. We finally chose a Brinton carpet which is now laid and looks really nice. The fitters were respectful of our home and very pleasant. In fact, an excellent job of fitting, as radial steps which are more involved. I would highly recommend as absolutely first class fitting. The fitters cleaned everything thing up and finished all the door bars which really finished the job off well. We are impressed to the point that we would not bother going elsewhere for our next carpet. There fitters were excellent ambassadors for Ponsford. Thank you.
