Very traditional pub, pool, good beer and familiar atmosphere. Right place for those looking for peace and rest at the entrance of the Peak District.
I think I found the nicest pub in the UK. (Don't tell anyone so as not to spoil it.
It does have a problem with evaporation though; no way I drank that pint that quick !!
Lovely place to stay, clean and comfortable. Made to feel very welcome but slightly disappointed they no longer do food. However, lovely couple of days.

Stayed two nights in a single room. Cosey, clean and well furnished room with all I needed at a a very agreeable price. Nice atmosphere in the pub and the staff was very helpful.
Great, reasonably priced B&B with a lovely pub downstairs. The rooms are clean and comfortable and nothing is too much hassle for the staff here. This is the perfect base for anybody doing a training course at Lavender International, 5 minutes down the road in Penistone.
Absolutely stunning place with scenic walks close by, very helpful staff and a lovely host. The breakfast was smashing. We will definitely be returning again.
A great atmosphere, made to feel like a local. Warm fire and a great landlord very helpful. A good pint. My group would give seven stars if we could.
Lovely food the steak was cooked to perfection and garlic butter sauce for the steak was to die for😍 great value attentive friendly staff, we will be back thank you 😊

Very friendly, cosy pub with a bit of history. Vegan Sunday dinners catered for at a very reasonable price.
