What a great place to sit and have a coffee or a bite to eat. The food is just beautiful, the cakes are to die for and the place is so clean, the atmosphere is fantastic, friendly and warm and inviting. Couldn't recommend this place enough we love it, such a buzzing little place <3 Well done to the staff there.
Wow! What can I say, absolutely loved it here. Our well behaved on a lead dog was made welcome so extra points for that. The food was stunning, so much so mum wanted to take the chef home. Staff were lovely, friendly, not in your face but very efficient and kind.Brilliant service, can’t believe we have lived her 3 years and never found this place before. I think we have found a little gem in Shepton and will definitely be back
lovely staff the lay out of the place is perfect lovely coffee shop in the material shop and lovely food must come and try it best in shepton mallet
Home made cakes and a lovely hot chocolate is just a small selection of the menu in this warm cosy and friendly family run café and craft shop set in the heart of Shepton Mallet selling a beautiful collection of fabric a fabulous colourful collection of wool for the knitter in us an alladins cave to while away many an afternoon.
Had a fabulous, wonderfully smelly afternoon here at The Hive this afternoon with my daughter, sister and my nephew making Rose petal milk bath bombs! This is a great place for crafting and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The bath bomb making was great fun and very reasonably priced too! We all left very happy with our makes (and with gorgeous smelling hands!) and thrilled that we have discovered this wonderful little hub in Shepton Mallet. We will definitely be back for more soon!
Lovely independent cafe with an excellent menu. I had a latte on this occasion but have sampled the delicious homemade cakes on a previous visit. The breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea menu will definitely tempt me back. One of my friends had the homemade soup and it looked lovely. It's bright and colourful with a cosy feel. Lot's of people popping in and out. Friendly staff, pretty perfect really.
The staff Hive are so friendly and helpful, they do the BEST cake and coffee in Shepton. We can highly recommend the chocolate orange cake and red velvet.
Fantastic service. Such a friendly place and lovely food. Went in today with 2 fractious and hungry children who didn't know what they wanted! Steph made us so welcome and found something to content them both. She even put aside a lovely knitted dog for us as my son doesn't quite have enough pocket money to buy it yet. We left completely relaxed and happy. Thank you so much.
Went in for the first time today. Spent 2 hours in there cup of tea and a browse through the shop. Staff are very helpful, kind and genuine. Can't wait to go back. Will be having cake next time.
A lovely place to spend an afternoon :-) the staff are so lovely, they have an extensive range of fabrics and yarns (among lots of other crafty bits) and the food & drinks are utterly scrumptious (chocolate fudge cake to die for!)
This is a great craft shop with friendly staff who help selflessly. Went in today and bought some wool and material and pattern for my first nightie since school. Am now 61 so it was a while ago. Had lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Can't wait until next visit.
The Hive is a lovely place to visit, I can even take the other half with me, sit him down with the paper and a latte while I looking around. The staff are really helpful and friendly
Just had the most amazing breakfast all cooked to perfection and great value for money would defiantly recommend it x
Recently left my bike leathers with The Hive for alterations. Picked them up yesterday and thank you - just what I wanted doing, very reasonable cost and great customer service.
A Big Thank You to the lovely Jo who took the 'folding your own notebook ' class today , the ever lovely staff at The Hive , and the extra calories I walked away with , consumed whilst waiting patiently for my daughters creativity to end ! Delorgious coffee and cakes ❤️
What can I say,
I took my hubby here this afternoon for a Cream Tea, seeing as we are fast approaching Valentine's Day.
We both share a love for a decent homemade scone and have a sneaky sweet tooth.
After coming here for my birthday, with my girls, I knew it was the best find.
This place is amazing, such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and absolutely beautiful food, Such a hidden treasure 😍❤️👌
Really surprising find. Really good food, decent coffee, homemade cakes and really friendly/welcoming staff. We stumbled across it almost by accident - well worth a visit if looking for a lovely place for lunch.
What a wonderful, caring, knowledgeable place to visit. The cafe side has food that will meet all tastes and they do their best to accommodate everyone's dietary needs. The shop side are so very helpful and equipped with all crafting needs. I will be visiting again for sure.
We were so impressed by our Afternoon Tea that we will be going again. We booked in advance & my cousin asked for the crusts to be left on our sandwiches, you've got to love a crust! The scone was lovely & we couldn't eat all of the cakes 😋 so a doggy bag was sorted & we took the rest home which i shared & devoured later. The staff were brilliant too.x
Another lovely visit to The Hive - it's always so welcoming :-) Thoroughly recommend the "Spiced Pumpkin" loaf cake too - it was delicious!!
It's such a lovely place every one is so friendly and helpful ,the food is really good ,and there's a large range of wool
Fantastic cafe. We had an excellent full English breakfast and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Very nice community feel to the place.
Lovely and delicious food in the hive bested in Shepton mallet craft and coffee shop very relaxing friendly
Lovely lunch had here, best and only place in Shepton Mallet for anything decent to eat. Unfortunately the town is a bit run down with loads of empty shops.
Had some lovely food today with my mum and wife and the staff are amazing and very friendly
What’s fabulous place! Wool, fabric and a variety of crafts AND a great cafe. Super friendly. Our dog got a lot of attention but sadly no sausage sandwich - it was too good to share.
Whilst on a drive home from a weekend, we looked on line to see if there was anything on our route. The Hive had outstanding reviews and we can confirm they live up to these positive reviews. The food and service is outstanding. Highly recommended.
Excellent afternoon tea! Highly recommend. Value for money. Good presentation. Eye catching. A good time had by all three of us.
I love this place! It doesn't have everything I need all the time but it's a great little local shop which I would always check out before going else where! We (me and my 7YO) have made a Sally costume from the nightmare before christmas, an angel for the Christmas tree and we are currently working on a Galadriel costume for world book day! And the staff are fab and friendly and always ask us to show the results at the end of a project!
Excellent as always. I arrived just after closing time. I asked if they would still serve me and they kindly offered to do so without fuss. They had exactly what I required. Much appreciated.
Cosy cafe, friendly staff, lovely food. They had one or two alternative milk alternatives and gluten free cakes as well as gluten free bread. I had a delicious gf bacon sandwich the first time here, then a yummy jacket potato, tuna mayo with salad. £3.70 for a hot chocolate though! I can't afford that very often, but I appreciate with rising fuel costs, they have had to put up their prices.
We love this friendly café, the tea and food are great and it was nice and clean. The staff are helpful and don't forget to talk to them about your allergies. Situated within a knitting shop too. We loved it and a great place to meet up with friends.
Family business that deserves a shout. Dave, with a special mention to his mum. Always provide a five star service whether your after a bite to eat, crafting or both. Whoever made the three tiered Victoria sandwich today should be very proud. It looked too good to eat!
I really appreciate the patience and support shown to me, as an inexperienced knitter as I attempt to explain my next project. The Hive have always gone above and beyond to help me source the necessary materials. A real hidden Gem of Shepton.
The most wonderful place to visit. It has so many interesting things in the craft part of the shop. Lovely hand made and knitted items too
Cafe is lovely too although can get very busy. Well worth the visit.
