Food is fantastic! Staff are amazing and very accommodating. Cocktails are totally fantastic thanks to the lovely Laurie (apologies if I've spelt incorrectly) - can't recommend this pub enough! My absolute favourite local ☺️
Lovely setting with friendly service, what’s not to like...
Fantastic pub , staff were so friendly and the fillet steals were outstanding -we will definitely be back
After a beautiful walk in stunning countryside we had our lunch at the William Bray. Great surroundings, very tasty food and a warm friendly atmosphere… thank you, we will be back!
If you havent tried the Bray, you should while you can still get a table!!
Amazing little pub fantastic food in a lovely little village
Mega pub in a great little village. The food is too good!
Had early dinner with a friend on a Sunday. Very lovely atmosphere in the Outdoor area. Food arrived promptly. Well cooked. Fish was very fresh. ordered panacottta as desert tasty but had more like a yogurt consistency. Everything good though. A bit pricey but you pay for good food, good service and lovely atmosphere. I do recommend it!
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Pricewise not the cheapest pub for sure, but then you get what you pay for. Highly recommended! 👊
Meat looked overdone, had requested rare but told comes as chef sees fit. Thought not good start till I tasted it. So tender, best roast I've had in a long time. Good meat, well matured, perfectly cooked. Portion perfect, veg perfect, and gravy the best. Did ask for more gravy. Did not disappoint and recommend.
An absolutely beautiful pub in Shere. Love the interior decoration. There are 3-4 separate place to sit inside as well as outdoor seating.
Staff is extremely friendly and happy to help out even when they are super busy.
Food quality is great and the menu has a lot to choose from.
Again I must say LOVE the interior decoration.

Great pub food with lovely, friendly service.
The pub is large and has separate dining areas. Good for small and large groups.
The food is great. Sunday lunch was fantastic. Perfectly tender beef and great extras. Really great lunch if you’re in the area.
Our first visit to the William Bray exceeded our expectations: great service from friendly people; excellent quality food that is well above the average pub food; and a beautiful and relaxing setting - we will definitely be back! We found the portion of baked monkish to be on the small side, but that seems to be the problem nowadays when you order fresh fish - you get very little of it! But this is only a very minor gripe - overall we were delighted with our dining experience.
Great food and sensational service from our server Abby.
The food was simply lovely, the setting wonderful with a great outside seated area .
Abby was lovely and the service went above and beyond when we forgot our sunglasses at the venue by tracking our number down by the reservation and alerting us.
The food was also great and catered to various taste buds.
Highly recommended and hope to visit once again
I visited The Bray with a local friend and olleagues after a conference in London. The restaurant is very nice inside. Quite honey and cozy. The service was really good except for not getting my drink order correct the first time (I ordered a rum and coke and they just brought aa coke). I had the short rib which was good, but I felt was relying to hard on it being smoked. I love smoked food and smoke lots.of things at home, but it seemed to be missing something. Add to that that something didn't agree with my stomach and had the aspects of food poisoning, but that could be just my body and beef so I'm not blaming them. Most of the rest of the group had the fish special. The sticky toffee pudding was also really good and well balanced for a dessert.
Overall I was very happy with the experience and would recommend to others.
Wonderful pub in the pretty village of Shere. Food was amazing especially the moules. Great staff too, very friendly and happy to help with our dietary needs. Will definitely be back when we are next in the area. Five stars all round.

The Bray is one of our favourite gastropubs. Set within the picturesque and quintessentially English town of Shere. They offer a modern British/ European menu which is always high quality. Their sunday roasts are fantastic and they also offer lovely sharing plates and very good quality wines. My husband and I have both celebrated our birthdays here and it is an amazing setting. The Orangery is an amazing private space for functions. The lovely William morris seating and drapes, rustic chandeliers and botanical art create a wonderful ambience. The bray also has a generous courtyard which makes it great for summer parties. The staff are very hardworking and friendly.
