Latimer's Of Shifnal

First visit to Latimers this evening, we were served by Ashley, who was welcoming, pleasant and attentive. Due to restricted time we were able to pre-order ahead to ensure our wait was as short as possible. The food came out very quickly and it was well presented, brilliant quality, generous portions and very tasty! At a reasonable price, considering our comments. The frontage, was very misleading and tired, assuming we had booked a table at a low key cafe, we actually found it to be a hidden gem and will definitely be returning soon! We booked for a Sunday Roast Dinner, we had a starter, I had Creamy Garlic and Sherry Mushrooms whilst the other person in our group of 3 had the Homemade Soup, both served with lovely warm freshly baked bread, so delicious and very moorish. Our mains were Roast Beef and Lamb, served with beautifully cooked veg in separate dishes, we all agreed that the Yorkshire Puddings literally melted in your mouth we’ve never tasted one like it ( I want that recipe plzzzzz ) 🤣😂. Gravy was rich and perfect consistency. There was so much veg left, and none of us could finish our Meat, so we asked to take it home for our Pugs, they retuned with a silver foil tray with the goodies to take home. We ordered 1 Pudding as so full up, that too was exceptional. The staff were polite and professional and Becky the Owner was really nice and made an effort to come and converse after we had finished our meal. We would highly recommend Latimer’s of Shifnal. I can't say enough about this beautiful little gem hidden away in Shifnal. I had heard my family had booked a meal here for an 80th birthday and decided it was the perfect place to hijack it, coming from Canada to see family members again was made special by the staff who I brought in on the surprise. The food was Devine, the flavors of the sauces was like a journey into the unknown, with every mouthful of the meal, another bold step forward. We went to the pie and pudding night and we were not disappointed, minor changes to the sides were unquestionably accepted, and took the meal from a more North American feel, back to a traditional English dinner. Kudos to the two beautiful ladies that waited on us and huge thank you to the chefs and kitchen staff who made this meal memorable. Perfect food, perfect atmosphere, best hosts ever. I will be back.

From the moment we walked in, The atmosphere and hospitality was warm and relaxing. The service was very professional, polite and unrushed. The food ( we all had a roads) was exceptional. Very Generous portions and really good quality Lamb & Turkey which was cooked to perfection. Wine was of good quality and very reasonably priced. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Thank you to all of you for making my Mothers Birthday special for her. We will definately return. Visited again today 28/05/23 and yet again the Service, Quality of food and Portion side was nothing short of exceptional. We shall return soon from Essex.
