I was super hungry this evening and I went to Shimla Spice for dinner.
The naan bread has its own special mention 😋
The Desi fish curry and chicken balti Bhuna were all delicious. I also couldn’t resist getting my favourite spinach and potato dish.
Fresh ingredients and plenty of flavour.
You can also bring your own drink which I think is a great idea. Tasty affordable meals

My boyfriend and I were spending 1 night in Shipley and decided to eat at shimla spice mainly due to recommendation by the hotel mangement
We arrived early and headed to the bar next door, for a drink before dinner. The restaurant looks amazing inside, the decor is very cool and all very coordinated. Loved the the suttle lighting colours.
Service was excellent and we were shown to our table in no time.
The poppadoms were different to any we had had before, which different types of poppadoms and sauces. All were explained by the waiter which was a great touch. It was all very tasty!
For starters I had liver tikka which were just delicious. My bf went for a fish starter which was equally nice, and not too spicy which was perfect for the fish's delicate flavour.
Main courses were excellent, the chicken tikka masala was the best I have ever had. My Bf ordered a chicken dish with mince which was very nice, I would recommend the chicken tikka masala, cooked mild in a thick creamy sauce.
All in all we had 1 of the best Indian ever. It's more reasonable than our local indians in Birmingham.
Can't wait for our next visit!
The food is no doubt delicious, mee n my husband often take away meal after work, quantity for the price vee pay is really satisfiying, but i am really surprised to cee something which is eye catching, when i was reading the reviews i noticed dat 95% of reviews r uploaded by shimla spice itself, dats really funny u cee u making stories of urself visiting the place with family n friends n updating, guys u not dat bad u cee, u r doing gud so juss wait for geniune comments rather making fun out of urself, leaves a negative image.
Wedding Anniversary. This is a fantastic venue to dine in, located just next to the Shipley train station, easily accessed if you're coming from Leeds, Bradford and surrounding areas. It is an ideal venue if you are having a special occasion. We as a family have dined there on many occasions such as birthdays, anniversary parties, office parties and family get togethers. The place has been awarded the 'best restaurant in Bradford' for the past two years. Serving the finest Asian cuisine in the perfect setting where you can also take your own alcohol with no corkage charged, it saves a lot on your bill. Just give this restaurant a try, very highly recommended!
A REAL STUNNER. This place over takes most restaurant in all sectors. The food,service,atomosphere and ambiant here is a real stunner.

Best curry in Yorkshire. Being asian and being bought up in Manchester, i've got curry in my blood.
We used to visit akbars in manchester and bradford alot, untill some friends recommended Shimla Spice, so i took my family down on a sunday, just got to say what a restaurant and the food is definatly the best in yorkshire, i've been many times after with famliy and friends.
So Manchester folks, if your willing to travel to Shipley near Bradford, go and try this place it beats most of the asian restaurants in Manchester.

..... we'd only ever been to Shimal Spice once! When we visited it before, as the now disbanded Bradford Curry Club, we had a great evening and we raved about the food. In addition, Shimla Spice is fairly close to us in Guiseley, and it wins lots and lots of awards. It's total madness! Birthday Boy with a Naan on a Stick Anyway, enough already, we've finally made it back, and from what we experienced we certainly shan't be leaving it quite so long next time I can promise you. From the offset, spirits were high - it was my Birthday* - I had just returned from a stonking ride at the Great Manchester Cycle, and was buzzing. A hearty refuel was desperately needed - something I was sure Shimla Spice would be able to offer. I had a few people joining me too, and the whole episode was rather reminiscent of the old Bradford Curry Club days - oh how I miss it. So on to the food. But, before we get there even, one of my fave little touches, at any restaurant for that matter, is poppadoms and pickles delivered immediately to the table. Shimla Spice delivered and the appetite was well and truly whetted by the general nibbling. Also, Shimla Spice is BYO - happy days. Top marks so far. For starters it had to be the epic Mixed Grill. It was well received by all who sampled it. A piled high sizzling platter stuffed with the usual chops, kebabs, chicken tikka, and fish. All this was intertwined with a mass of tangled sweet onions. Amazing best Indian I’ve ever had and beautiful food great atmosphere and brilliant that you can bring your own alcohol. Check out the size of the numb bread. Exceptional value for money.
We dine here often & have to say that we are never disappointed. The food is excellent & the service is faultless.

We frequent Shimla Spice in Shipley quite often and our last visit was just as good as the rest. We had popudom and mixed pickle tray starter. We both had our own main dish and we shared a fish masala main between us (my favourite). Garlic naan bread huge! Rice nice and fluffy. Will be returning soon with my mother in law!
Absolutely superb. Last minute decision on a very busy Saturday evening but was quickly found a table of two.
Staff were all fantastic and helpful.

I have eaten here on a number of occasions and the food is always excellent. The dining area is always clean and it is a nice place to sit and eat a meal. The service is quick and efficient, and the staff are always helpful and friendly. I would recommend people give it a try.
Remember to bring your own alcohol if that's what you're wanting to drink with your meal
Food was very good but think the attitude of the younger members of staff a little off! Not really acceptable to call customers mate or remark to people who said they found a dish very hot "well you ordered it"! Maybe a little more staff training required!!!
First time visiting this place and we were very pleased with food and service. Great atmosphere and delicious curry!!!
Food is always fantastic, I was slightly disappointed with the service this time as they didn't ask if we wanted any soft drinks, we then asked to order, some were forgotten about and then had to request again around 40 minutes into sitting down. So despite the service (most likely a one off bad time) I would recommend due to the variety and flavour of the food.

Love to eat here. The nans are legendary, food amazing. Only thing I’d mention is they are quick to ask you to leave. When other tables are free. Maybe they need to say two hours only for tables. Might help. Will be back soon.

This is One of Shipley's best restaurants by far, I come here regularly the staff are very respectful and the food is consistently amazing. The other week i was served by a young lad called faizan who gave me outstanding service.

Staff are really attentive, cannot fault it. Food is always consistently good when me, friends and family go always leaving with full happy bellies.

Price is not that bad in my opinion, especially since you can get delicious food with good service, I would say it's typical average pricing?

I came to comment on exactly what the ratings have asked stars for; food, service and atmosphere! Visited couple weekends ago for the first time and I am hoping to eat there again! Generous portions of tasty, spice infused food, lovely interior that was not too luxurious or overwhelming and brought a great calibre of people to the evening. It is off licence so you can bring your own alcohol but with the portions and deliciousness of the food, you'll hardly touch your drink unless it helps to cool you down (and I sure do like my wine so that's saying something). Not only am I also grateful for the great service and personality Uzzy brought to the evening, I am grateful he trusted me to handle Asian style hotness to my Nehari 👌🤣 the spice is never to he underestimated, but neither is my tolerance. Many thanks for a great first time visit!
Shimla spice never fails beautiful food the best customer service and has a lovely inviting atmosphere. We have all our "special meals" here and buy the gift cards for presents.
