Had a fantastic time! We waited a while for food because of an influx of larger parties, however everyone serving us was lovely, they made sure we were kept updated from Kitchen and it was a good job we waited. The food was gorgeous. We got served by Courtney (the assistant manager), Pete and Georgia. Fantastic service, will be back again!!

What a gem of a find, lovely place, clean and relaxing with a lovely atmosphere, ideal for couples, groups or parties. The food....what can I say.. absolutely delicious, oh boy was it delicious. But I'll let you into the secret that makes this place absolutely sparkle....it's the staff. Great good old fashioned service where they treat you as a valued customer. Yes there are probably cheaper places to eat, pile it high and sell it cheap, get you in and turf you out places but we are only talking a few quid cheaper, so it's well worth paying a little more for the quality food and great service. Large car park and outdoor area as well

Award winning sunday roast! I Highly recommend the three meat roast, absolute bargain for £15, everything tasty and fresh and portion size is spot on. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the main course but I did manage to get one of the bakewell tart desert which was also very nice. Great family pub with nice friendly staff, reasonably priced for today's cost of living. Plenty of parking spaces. Will definitely be coming back.

2nd visit, great service, lovely food. Love how calm it is inside. It's a large pub with heaps of space. Mainly for eating, but also a few nooks and areas for just having a drink. Staff excellent. Always a special's board. Large car park. Served by Pete who offered recommendations for the dessert menu and was super hospitable. Their moto is something like "Where quality food meets great service", and they're not lying. We were just visiting the area for the weekend, and enjoyed it so much, we went back the following day.

A year later, and we're back in this area again.
We visited this pub for our evening meal last night, and the food was amazing. I had the slow cooked yorkshire beef, and everything from the presentation, to the textures and flavours was beautiful. The beef just fell apart when I touched it with my fork.

We had planned a small surprise gathering at another establishment to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday but unfortunately they let us down on the day. In a last minute online panic, I stumbled across The Halfway House.....thank goodness I did!! The staff kindly accommodated our party of 9, and both the service and food were exceptional. I would like to say a particular 'Thank-you' to Beth and Sophie who looked after us wonderfully on the night. I would highly recommend The Halfway House and will definitely be back. They also have a gluten-free menu which I appreciated being coeliac 😊

Just called in for a drink after visiting Adventure Van Rental. I have to say this is the most dog friendly pub we have ever visited. Treats and water on hand together with blankets for the dog to sit on. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Very impressed. We shall return

We were staying nearby so came here after a recommendation from someone else staying in our hotel.
The atmosphere is lovely! Cosy and warm, service with a smile and family friendly (also dog friendly).
The menu was great with plenty of choice, the kids menu was one of the best we’ve seen.
The food itself was a little bit hit and miss. My partners burger was very ‘bog standard’ but my lasagne was the best lasagne I’ve ever had. Something went wrong with our little ones meal which didn’t come out until I chased it up so he did start kicking off seeing our meals on the table.
Overall a great experience and I would definitely come back.

Called in for Sunday lunch. There was plenty of choice of roast dinners, and there was plenty of choice if you didn't fancy a Sunday roast, even though it was a reduced menu. There's only so much you can do with a roast dinner, but it was very nice and will definitely be back for another Sunday roast and will be back during the week for something off the main menu. Have to say, the staff were very nice too.

Fabulous place spacious, light and clean, the new menu looks amazing, the staff were smiley and helpful, the loos were spotless, a nice outdoor area, but it's a little too cold to be outside just now

I've been going in pubs for 60 years and this is possibly the nicest pub/restaurant I've ever visited! Food was great, service was exceptional, and there were a couple of good, seasonal hand-pulled beers to boot... wish I could have given more than 5 stars!

Called in for a late breakfast (brunch) and had the Eggs Benedict, salmon and egg and a stack of pancakes.
The food was fantastic and we enjoyed sitting outside on the balcony. Kate was lovely and made us feel really welcome.
We look forward to coming again!
