An amazing restaurant with an excellent atmosphere. The staff were extremely friendly & very helpful especially when it came to menu choices. The food was delicious - cooked to perfection.
I would definitely visit again & would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal out.
Lovely place to breakfast in with great menu choices and plenty of decaf tea which is a bonus. Great atmosphere, service and delicious food
Enjoyed a relaxing lunch today. The set menu was delicious with good portion sizes. House wine equally good. Very good service and atmosphere.
What a treat - we really enjoyed our meal, great ambience, friendly staff without being intrusive - another fantastic place to dine. We wish you every success.
Lovely lunchtime visit. My starter - shalot & mushroom *crumble* was amazing. Excellent steak, and TBH Tarte Tatin was different and delicious. It's not cheap here, but we'll worth it!
Before the visit, we thought that it would be expensive with smaller portions. However, we were pleasantly surprised that the portions were of a good size, alongside the excellent quality and taste of the food this provides good value for money. The decor inside is beautiful and the staff are attentive. This adds another option to Shipston's dining portfolio. We will definitely look forward to our next visit and recommend you try it out!
Just love your bacon bap and builders tea! Coming back soon for lunch and your new menu.
Great place, excellent food and good service. Catered to my onion aversion with consideration. Lovely characterful building and atmosphere

We just stayed overnight at the bower house and it was wonderful. The room was gorgeous, breakfast was delicious and the whole experience was 5 star!
Fab place, delicious food, lovely staff and perfect cocktails
Very delicious food in such a beautiful place we will definitely be going back soon! Very good service too :-)
Fabulous food, good service, welcoming atmosphere, all in all a really lovely evening. Edward on the bar is very friendly and helpful answering all my questions about rooms, what they have planned etc. Great addition to Shipston
What an excellent place to stay. Absolutely gorgeous boutique rooms above a delightful restaurant. The staff were so attentive with added touch of addressing us by first names, small gesture, HUGE difference. We booked the family room as we had our two kids with us. It was perfect with a separate room for the kids. Couldn’t recommend it more. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
A fantastic experience of a superb afternoon tea. We were a group of 9 celebrating a baby shower/leaving the company. The service was excellent and the detail that had gone into the afternoon tea was outstanding. All freshly made on the premises, you can really gauge the talent and effort that has been applied by the chef. We never felt rushed and felt relaxed and well
looked after. Thanks to all the staff at Bower House. Highly recommended.
Incredible place. Room appointed to high specification with vintage touches . Fresh milk, fruit and cookies on offer. Full size bath. Very comfortable bed . View overlooking top of church. Breakfast very good value and delicious. All in all, I couldn’t fault the experience at all and loved every moment.
The best breakfast I've had (I prefer alternates to a standard full English). My partner had the full English though, and said the same. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Drinks choice was fantastic, as was the menu. I couldn't decide as there was so much on there I'd have loved, so we will just have to keep coming back and trying them all! Shame!
Staff were lovely and the atmosphere was great, hot drinks were lovely - tried a Golden Milk and I would recommend this, and priced reasonably too.
Stopped in for a spot of lunch, most of the menu is breakfast which is fine so brunch it was. The food was pleasant, the full English had good bacon, black pudding and and toast although the sausage and beans were middling. The halloumi burger was nice enough, but the bun was lacking and even though I opted out of the avocado I would say £17 seems a little steep - even for the Cotswolds
About half the restaurant is wheelchair accessible, though I would point out that the doors to the loos are rather heavy.
There is no onsite car parking but 5 minutes away there is free parking in two car parks which is handy, by the old mill b&b.
Visited the bower house today as a result of not being able to find a cafe in shipston to have a coffee that had availability and welcomed dogs. The bower house certainly delivers on appearance, its very well presented both externally and internally. I was a little unsure of our welcome/greeting, not convinced that we were really welcome to bring our dog into the 'doggy area, however the lady that served us was lovely and we decided to have a light lunch to accompany our coffee. The food was very nice and a reasonable price. First impressions when entering an establishment are so important, a friendly welcome is essential if you want people to return and being made to feel comfortable goes a long way.
This is a very warn and friendly restaurant with room. The rooms are decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Ours had a large roll-top bath as well as a good size shower in the well appointed bathroom. The bedroom was equally well appointed, with tea making, a Nespresso machine, fresh milk in the fridge ands cookies from the deli next door. (The deli is worth a visit, show your room key and get a 10% discount).
The bar has a good collection of local beers and a fine cocktail list.
Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. Our first night we had the plant based tasting menu which did not disappoint with fine flavours and textures throughout. The second night we has more traditional fair, which again did not disappoint. All washed down with choices from a well thought through wine list.
Finally, a very comprehensive cook to order breakfast menu started each day with a smile.
Highly recommended.
Fantastic breakfast. Lovely attentive staff.
Go for the full English
Excellent breakfast. Great customer service and lovely comfortable restaurant. Good value, not cheap but well worth the money. Definitely recommend.
We stayed in a nearby village and visited here for dinner the other night. It was so lovely! The staff were super friendly and the food was amazing. We tried a lot of the small plates/snacks as we couldn’t decide and ended up loving everything. Cocktails were yummy too. Would definitely come back here if we were in the area!
