Just this afternoon I treated my friend to the Gin & tonic afternoon tea. Oh my goodness, it was absolutely divine! The table was set out lovely and the attention to detail was outstanding! From the table cloth, napkins, cup and saucer filled with ice and lemon for the Gin, to the afternoon tea stand which was filled with the most delicious treats which included a little cup each filled with crisps. My favourite was the swiss roll which was so light and not over filled with cream and had raspberries in. I anticipated bringing something home as there was so much but we couldn't stop eating :) Just perfect summer treat and great price! Thank you xx

Always visit Langlands in Shiptonthorpe when in the area & especially on our way to & from the coast. Often meet up with friends in the cafe for a meal or equally good is the coffee shop for lighter snacks. Also a great selection of food in the farm shop - we usually go away laden with goodies. Good clean toilets - always a bonus when travelling. Great things on offer both in the garden centre & the shop areas & come Christmas time the displays are amazing. Top notch. Also visit the Leeds branch at Whinmoor on our way to & from the Dales

I give it 5 stars because the cafe and coffee shop are great and they do a lovely range of food stuffs to bring home including gluten free. It’s a nice trip out and always lots to see. They have special events like Christmas previews, bonfire displays etc. Can be a bit pricey but nearly always buy something. Well worth having a loyalty card

Langlands Garden Centre is not just a place to buy garden materials & plants. It offers a diverse selection of products. It's a Aladdin's cave of gifts, clothing, furniture, food etc. They also offer a tasty selection of homemade in-house food & desserts that is worth trying. It's one of my favourite place to visit when I'm in the area.

Visited Santa this afternoon and can't recommend this grotto enough, the Elfs were very friendly and Santa himself was as jolly as can be , he spent a long time chatting to my son about his christmas list (a good 10 mins) which he wrote with the elf , then recieved a minature christmas tree and a toy, such good value for money . Well done Langlands x

I took my two little boys to visit Father Christmas today and really can't recommend the experience enough. Children spend time in Father Christmas's living room and get to chat with him while colouring festive pictures. They then have the traditional choosing a gift and sitting on his knee for photographs. The organisation was brilliant and the children made to feel very special. We were particularly impressed with Father Christmas himself. He spent time with each child and had an excellent knowledge of all the latest toys. The experience lasted over half an hour and was exceptional value for money. Brilliant!

We had a great time looking around Langlands garden centre York. There are plenty of gifts, cards, plants and barbecues, outdoor lighting, outdoor furniture and the cafe has plenty of spaces and great food. The disabled toilet was big enough to take a wheelchair in and was very clean. There is also a Edinburgh wool shop. The only thing that was disappointing was the farm shop which didn't have much apart from cakes. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Had a fab family breakfast! Staff nice, courteous. Tables are very clean, all covid rules are followed. After the restaurant we had a wonder around. Our 5 year old was amazed by all the plants, we picked out some beauties together and planted them in hanging baskets at home. Great family day out!

We have used Langlands as outdoor caterers several times, most recently my Grandad's 90th Birthday with 40 covers. Few people know they provide an outdoor catering service, but it really is something special. The excellent level of service and professionalism from planning through to product is just superb. Langlands food is always freshly prepared and made to order, we had a couple of allergies among our party and the team were extremely flexible, even making every single item gluten free. On site, the team can never help enough, even with added extras and care about things such as the furniture and decor. At our recent event, Hilary, Louise, Lynda, James, Trish, Lauren, Damien and Phil were amazing. Thank you all we had an excellent day which you were a huge part of.

First time at Langlands today after recently moving the area. What a beautiful place this is, fab gift shop, amazing Christmas wonderland and friendly wonderful staff. Really enjoyed our visit and was lovely seeing the kids faces in the Christmas bit. Need to try the cafe next time we are in as it smelt lush! Thanks again

This is a really popular garden centre half way between where I live and York, so just right for popping in to stock up on all things gardening. Over the years I have bought all sorts of things for the garden including some fab honeysuckles, Fuschia, bulbs and lots more. Going to Langlands is more of a shopping experience as there are other products such as cards, stationery, hone furnishings and an Edinburgh Woollen Mill. The cafe is very good and popular with shoppers of all ages but the best section for me is the shop with cakes, meringues, preserves and, best of all, four freezers of frozen products such as rhubarb, apples and blueberries. Well worth a visit!

There are 2 places to eat. We chose to have a bacon & sausage sandwich with coffee so was the larger dinning area. We looked around the 50% off Christmas decorations and received advice on orchid care from a helpful member of staff. I noticed there was a 2nd hand book area which is good

Came on a Sunday, cafe & restaurant serving roast dinners, cakes and coffees. Had a coffee and scone which was very nice. The roast dinners looked really nice. It was the opening weekend of the Christmas shop and Santa and Mrs. Claus were walking about, talking to kids and having photos. Love the farm shop, had loads of nice cakes, scones and seasonal produce. Overall a really nice garden centre and well worth a visit.

First time and was to visit Santa, who despite running late due to feeding his reindeer was fabulous & embraced my son wonderfully. Only downside for our visit was lack of suitable toilet/changing facilities when I needed to use for my non mobile wheelchair using son, but thanks to an amazing lady member of staff who kindly found us a suitable place. Great selection of Xmas bits and pieces.
