Omg...fantastic restaurant. It's like being back home(Tamilnadu). We tried all varieties of dhosa and dishes. It's amazing. Yummy...! Original hometown taste. I really enjoyed the mutton gravy. After so long time, I had a wonderful dinner. Thanks to the cook.

Food is tasty and served hot. The dosa is good quality and the mushroom curry is very nice.
First of all the food is amazing. Don’t be put off by the dated decor. You will be in for a treat of authentic South Indian cuisine.
They only accept cash, which is inconvenient. I have nearly forgotten what cash is. Hopefully they would get a card machine soon.
And also the ventilation could be improved. It was like a smoke house.
Other than this, I think it’s the best Indian. And very reasonably priced too.
There is a saying “do not judge a book by its cover”.This eatery is a good example.the place itself would really benefit from refurbishment and new decor,but the food is spot on.Well,I rate Food places for the food and the service so happy to give a 5 star

I visited this restaurant before covid time and now there is huge difference. Yes could see the authentic south indian flavours. The sambhar and chutney was really nice. The dosa was fresh, crispy and tasty. We ordered sambhar vadai, chilli grilled fish, chicken biriyani, mutton Kotha parotta… it was good. Chicken biriyani is kind of ok. Kothu parotta was not tasty as like as we had earlier. This means that the standard of food has little reduced. The dragon chicken was really amazing, fresh and mutton was tender and cooked to perfection on the mutton pepper fry. Do visit this omen if you are in this area.
The only downside they did not have the card payment facility, it was cash only. Also parking is available nearby which is one hour free. Staff is much helpful and appreciate that. Best dishes I will suggest is.. mutton pepper fry, dragon chicken, chicken 65 and chill fish.. recommended

The food is out of the world - definitely one of the best in the UK. It's not a fancy restaurant so don't expect a luxurious dining experience, but if you want really good Indian food with authentic tastes (not catered to the local population), this is the place to be. There is another fancier Indian restaurant on the same street with better interiors etc, but food wise this tops the list no doubt. And the chefs are actually from southern India unlike other places where its just in the name!
The staff is friendly and the service is decent.
Note to the restaurant owner- TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR CHEFS AND DON'T LET THEM LEAVE! 😊

Excellent food with fast and polite service. There were multiple food spice options according to preference and the waiters were very polite and had a wonderful smile upon them at all times crating a truly unforgettable experience.The food was fantastic and top notch quality and had an authentic taste that brought us all back to the streets of southern India.Overall the experience was fantastic and I would highly recommend this restaurant to many of my friends and family 😀
It was nice meeting Vel, he served us very well. The Onion Dosa with coconut chutney was delicious and authentic south Indian. Highly recommend. Would visit again.
Outstanding food and MOST importantly wonderful people. I ordered a masala dosa and a coke. I then saw a notice saying cash only so panicked and checked that I had only £5 with me and no debit card. I went up to the counter and asked for the coke can to be returned after which the bill was £5.50. Profusely apologised and said I was 50 p short. The gentleman was so nice it is unbelievable. He insisted I have the coke and not worry about the balance. Needless to say I did not but which restaurant would have such owners who believe in not great customer satisfaction but spoiling them. Hats off to them and am very touched by their generosity.

My favourite South Indian restaurant. Their paper roasts and dosas are the best. Some of their veggie starters are too greasy for me, but their veggie mains are delicious, and so are the vadais. Service is slow. It's a no frills place. Cash payments only.
The food in Shirley Dosa Village is too delicious and the awesome service by the staff is to be mentioned here. If anyone has not tried the Srilankan chicken curry and parotta combo you definitely should try that.. Thanks to Dosa village for serving a finger licking food
