Crispy batter, fresh chips, fresh fish. What more do you want. They provided friendly service and did not charge me extra for ketchup. I love a good chippy, and the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the chips were not triple fried.
Otherwise i took it down to East Beach Park and enjoyed it with the lovely view. I will definitely go back.
I call this the The Sportsmans: Decent little snack yesterday. Large cod, Steak pie, large battered sausage, Pancake Roll, bread and butter roll, chips, curry sauce and gravy washed down with a can of Rio. All extremely pleasurable apart from Pancake Roll but I'll let them off that! Also worth noting that prices are very reasonable. #currysauce is amazing đź‘Ź 4 stars from me!
Never been here before was in the area so I decided to stop and get some dinner they took the skin off my cod for me and the cod and chips were very tasty indeed well done all round I have autism and find ordering difficult not all disabilities are visible kind regards Paul
Fish and chips on Friday 4th August. Food was piping hot and all was perfection! Will not go anywhere else. Sooo good!

Lovely fresh food. Staff are friendly and family run, I believe. Never had a bad fish and chips from here. They also do other food as such homemade pie which I have been told is amazing.
I consider Nessy's a 5 star fish and chip shop. It's takeaway only and the shop front is nothing to make a postcard out of, but rated on taste, quality, portion size and service this place gets top marks. My wife and I have a piece of fish each and split one chips, which is ample for us. The most important thing is the batter - here it's crispy and firm while not being over cruncy. The fish inside is firm, white and flaky, not mushy like other F&C shops. The chap and the girls serving are always friendly and your food is always, always cooked fresh :) Mushy peas are good too and overall it's good value. Some basic fizzy drinks in the refrigerator and the usually chip-shop bits on the menu.
Best fish and chip takeaway in Shoebury. The owner is local and works the fryers himself so he really cares about the quality of the food.
The service at the counter is quick, efficient, friendly and the girls have never got my order wrong.

Went here for the first time after discovering that McCoy’s fish and chip shop by Asda is a cash only operation when I only had card. To make matters worse all the cash machines at Asda were out of service. So I went looking for an alternative.
After seeing some good reviews on Google I decided to drive to Nessy’s and so pleased I did. Great food, really friendly staff and decent prices. I think we have found our new go to local fish and chip shop. Will definitely be back from no on. Highly recommended.

This chippy is the best around...the fish cakes and pies are great.even the chips are spot on...they are always pollite and friendly too so bonus.i come from far to come here cos they are the best around and i enjoy it very much

They cook fish and chips just right, at a reasonable price, and the staff are friendly too. I would place this in my top 5 of the best fish and chip takeaways in Southend, and being a seaside town, there is a lot of competition!
