Perfect for a relaing meal.. What a find! A really friendly atmosphere. The building is very cosy and quant. The food was very well prepared and delicious and the staff were professional and courteous but not over familiar. It's right in the middle of the town and it's like stepping back in time.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The reason for giving 5 stars is that we felt so welcome like part of the family. The staff and owner Nick went out of the way to make sure you were comfortable and happy and adapted food or drink to ensure satisfaction. Room was good, great shower. A bit of noise from outside being on a popular road. Would definitely recommend.

Dined 23/10/23 table of 4 Lovely friendly and very inviting . Staff gave excellent service couldn’t do enough for us even made our friends Dog very welcome with plenty of treats . Roast dinner was the best we had eaten in a very long time (that’s not including our own cooked roast at home ) 😃only joking . Exceptional value for money and would definitely return again when visiting Shewsbury again .

Saw this place on Google maps when looking at visiting Shrewsbury. Friendly service. Excellent beers well kept beer. And the food, again was excellent. I can highly recommend the Pork bellywith a spicy pineapple sauce. My girlfriend had the cod n chips again tasty. As was the apple crumble and custard.

We booked a table for a Saturday night and we were sat at a table amongst all the drinkers in the main bar. It was starting to get very busy so we asked to be moved. The staff were very accommodating, and they moved us into the restaurant area, we had this all to ourselves which was much better. They were really attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, the service was very good. The food itself was amazing.

One of the places I looked at staying, being dog friendly. Another place came up, but wanted to visit while we were staying in Shrewsbury. Very friendly service. Excellent food. Excellent well looked after beers. I would highly recommend coming here.

Lovely pub, first time here and the staff were super friendly, beer garden is great. Josh and Clare behind the bar are some of the friendliest staff I've ever met. Great pub.

Came in for a meal with a friend. A beautiful venue which felt cosy and cared for. Service was prompt and the cocktails were very tasty. I had the gnocchi which was out of this world! My friend had the halloumi burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were annoyed at ourselves as neither had been before, but we will definitely be coming back again! Edit: Also popped in for Sunday lunch with my family. Everything was brilliant, a beautiful spread and presentation was amazing. Two lots of beef and a fish and chips. Three very happy and full people! Beef was perfect and pink and the cauliflower cheese especially deserves its own shout out! All in all amazing. Staff are very friendly and on point. A great dining experience!

Awesome Taphouse and Hotel. Nick (owner) was very friendly and helpful. Him and his staff provide top notch service. From the food and beer to the hotel rooms. I was comfortable, secure, and taken care of every step of the way. The hotel get booked quickly. I waited til the week before to book and they only had one night available, but Im glad I got at least one night. Thanks to Nick and his Staff.

Visited for the first time for Sunday lunch. It was the best Sunday lunch we've had for a long time. The staff were outstanding, so attentive and polite. Will definitely be returning. And we took our little dog who was also made very welcome and enjoyed his dog biscuits!! Thank you fro a lovely Sunday afternoon.

Stayed one night in a fabulous large room, decent bathroom, good comfortable bed. Very warm welcome, helpful staff. Didn’t use the bar or breakfast facilities.
