Went in this place for a meal in may as I do most school holidays and it was awful , I have just come back from a week there and WOW 100% improvement. Bar manager and his wife very polite , professional and engaging with the customers , the pub was clean , friendly and a great atmosphere, the food was amazing so much so we ate there 3 nights the new chef I hope will encourage a lot of new business to the place . He even let us mix up the menu to cater for my husband who has celiac. The waiting on staff very professional and well dressed , can't wait to return in October and wish you all the success. It's 100% worth a second chance.

Our 2nd visit to this pub for food.l, and all I can say is "WOW".
Today we had the carvery and the choice of 3 fresh meats and a selection of 9 potatoes and veg, all fresh and very hot, great value for money.Lovely country pub where locals and staff make you feel very welcome. So don't drive past cal in. We are on the caravan park behind and will be highly recommending this to others. Proper home cooked food no frozen stuff absolutley amazing.

Wow what a Sunday lunch! 3 fresh meats all served hot and a choice of 9 veg and potatoes. Plentiful and fresh! Not usual pub food this is home cooked and quality! 2nd visit we will be back as the staff and locals so welcoming!
Excellent Sunday carvery today, food piping hot and lovely. so good booked for next week. A very warm welcome given, all staff very nice. Desserts were lovely. V

Visited while staying locally. Basic little pub, with the usual drinks and snacks available. We went on a Friday night and there was no obnoxiously loud music playing or anything like that. We were able to sit down, relax and enjoy our beers.
Just called in we have our cavan on site and what an golden nugget this place is. Fish chips and peas to die for and staff so friendly and amazing. Don't often gibe a 5 bit shud be a ten really

Visited The Wingfield Arms now several times over last few weeks and each time made to feel very welcome.
Food is good and Sunday carvery is first class. All served hot and good portions.
Staff are all very friendly and accommodating.
Give it a try.

Went to a 60th birthday party in the function room at the Wingfield Arms at the weekend and was very impressed with everything. The buffet was exceptional, catering for every possible taste and there was enough to feed an army. Very good value for money. We all had a great evening. Thank you to everyone involved.

Lovely lunch with very friendly and considerate service. We brought my mother who is in a wheelchair and they were very helpful in making her comfortable. I and my husband are both vegetarians and the Mediterranean vegetable tart was really delicious. We will definitely come again.
Very nice little pub we found on the way back from a camping trip, we rang and were welcomed in by the Aussies. Had very nice meals and a great chat with the owner. A very welcome stop on our way home and will be stopping by again when next in the area.
We stopped off here for a quick drink. Ended up staying for food, and glad we did. We had no trouble finding a table outside and they also have a few tables under cover. The food was lovely and the staff very friendly and attentive. Would definately recommend this pub and we ard looking forward to our next visit.
We got on the river at the back of the pub then had a lovely cider and some food sat outside in the sunshine. Great for Kayaking or Paddle boarding then some refreshments
