Food was very good. But took a bit long to arrive. Didnt ask if we wanted desserts, just brought the bill. Although very nice waitress. Would certainly go back.
Picturesque village pub. Excellent freshly cooked food, which won't disappoint. The Steak & Ale pie is highly recommended. The atmosphere is friendly and has that cosy village pub feel. If your looking for good food at very reasonable prices, the Prince of Wales is the place to go!
This pub is beautiful! Recently taken over by Ben, who is lovely to chat to and very accommodating, which didn't go unnoticed from the moment we arrived. The food is really tasty and reasonably priced. Lots of vegetarian options too. Dog friendly and decor warm and cosy. Thanks for having us!
We came back after 5 years. We used to go a lot. New owners and the room refurbished.
We went on Sunday. The lamb roast excelent. One if the best i have ever tried. The beef roast not bad but not as good as the lamb.
The service very good. The new owners nice and profesional.
Perhaps the beer garden needs a little push. With nice weather it used to be a really nice place to have a beer....or two.
We will come back again.
A great village pub with friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Have had Sunday dinner here a few times now and if you're looking for a no nonsense traditional roast like you'd have at home then this is the place for you. Good meat, home made Yorkshires, nice selection of veg and a bowl of caulifower cheese thrown in without paying extra. The gravy is pretty good too and I've never had to ask for extra gravy here, wish I could say that about all my pub sunday lunch reviews.
Just to update my previous review, we had a bit of a 'bus issue' today, thanks Stagecoach, so rang the pub from the bus stop to let them know we might be late. Then Ben offered to pick us up, and Sarah dropped us off later. These guys don't just go the extra mile to look after their clientele, we live about 2 miles from them. That kind of service is above and beyond your normal village pub ***** 🤩
If a pub is measured in the atmosphere and warmth, this one wins all stars. Great food, atmosphere and the most fabulous owners. It’s a community pub in all sense and one of the best in miles around. A great effort with food, but also to get nice drinks and ensure everyone leaves with a huge smile. We love this pub.
What a great find on a long journey home. Such a lovely, welcoming landlord. Lovely, tasty, freshly prepared bar food and good cider. Very dog friendly. And seems like a good local pub too. Would recommend and go back
Got to love a proper pub, who lets in proper dogs:) Barmaid was lovely too :) foods great, drinks are of good quality and well priced for the location :) get yourself in there and judge for yourself.
We just moved to town and have been coming here weekly the past couple months. The food is amazing and the service even better.
We visited today on a recommendation & was not disappointed at all. From the minute we walked in we were all greeted like long lost friends! Ben has only recently taken over & his hospitality skills are second to none! The food & service were brilliant. I had the plant based burger & my daughter & hubby had the steak burgers & they were deeeeelish! We cant wait to go back......this time with the dogs. Thanks for having us Ben......was lovely to meet you.
Lovely, welcoming, family and dog friendly pub. We had been for a long hike and needed a late lunch, although the kitchen was on the verge of closing they waited for us especially. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was really tasty, classic, English pub food.
Ben and the staff were very welcoming; homely and familiar atmosphere combined with good conversation. Food and beer also good.
Wife and daughter also enjoyed the ambiance and live music. Recommend popping your head in the door, even if it’s just for a quick pint.
Cheers
