Lovely pub and nice staff. The pub manager has done amazing work. I was here last year and not very welcoming. But she turned it around. it just been taken over by new manager Lovely food and helpful staff. If you get a change popin. Highly recommended Sunday roast. See you next year.

Service is Good, food is fine for a pub I do not like dogs around the table.... they are too much a refection of theid owners 🤐😶🫣

Great experience at the Anchor. Carvery was delicious with lots of gluten free options available. Poor staff were clearly short but worked hard and service was good. Reasonable price for what we got. Previously came and had salad and chicken and chorizo skewed, which were lovely. Highly recommend and will return.

Got to say very impressed. Our meals were delicious and we're very well presented. We didn't have the carvery but it looked very nice. My only gripe was having to wait to get served our drinks at the bar seemed like ages waiting around but this will not stop us from coming back again for certain.

We stayed at a nearby campsite and ate here twice for an evening meal. The beef burger was delicious, freshly made and a proper burger. The chips (skin on) were perfect, crispy on the outside, fluffy inside and so tasty. The onion rings were epic! We didn't try a dessert so can't comment, but if the mains were anything to go by then should also be a winner. Friendly, helpful and hospitable staff.

Had a meal 19/08/23. The pub was very clean and tidy, the staff were very friendly and the food was very tasty. Prices were average and good value for money. Will definitely be going back.

Liberty Carissa and Tyler. We’re wonderful on our visit to The Anchor. They made us feel so welcome we’re very chatty and friendly! I hope that this review gets them noticed and praised as they are a credit to the Pub.

Great little place. I've eaten here twice and both times the food has been very good. I don't eat meat so opted for the nut roast and veggie gravy. Plenty of choice of carvery vegetables - carrots, cabbage, roast potatoes, roast parsnips then there's also a leek and cheese gratin, pork meat stuffing, cauliflower cheese and Yorkies. Good service and reasonably priced. Adult carvery was about £15 (I think) and children's £10.95 but if you're little one isn't bothered about the trimmings, go for the kids menu. Good sized car park and small beer garden.

This is a really great place to eat. Nice relaxed atmosphere, staff friendly and helpful. Food was delicious with a good selection for veggies. Very dog friendly he was given a water bowl and some biscuits. Will definitely return and thoroughly recommend it.

The best choice of where to eat for food by far. Staff were so friendly, everyone ensured that we were happy and comfortable. It was our dogs first trip to the pub and the staff even made sure they had a good time! The food was excellent, the deserts were to die for! Will definitely return!

Perfect we (wife and I) went for a quick bite whilst discussing a new purchase we were about to make for a motorhome. Had dog with us, friendly but excitable young lab. Staff were brilliant, very dog friendly, food was lovely and priced well, parking excellent.

Beautifully decorated resturant. The service was amazing. The waitress could not help us enough. And took the time to assist my friend who has alot of food intolerance and advised her what was ok for her and what to avoid on the menu. The food was so amazing. The veg was fresh, and tasty and the meat was moist and perfectly cooked! I also want to mention chef Jim. It did not go unnoticed how attentive and helpful he was to all the diners. Going as far as to assist an elder lady from her table to the carvery counter, dished up her food and then helped her back to her table with her plate. He took time to check on each and every table and did not rush. He made us feel truly welcome, and we really appreciated the extra care he and our lovely waitress (who's name I sadly did not catch) toom to help us. Good job guys! I recommend the Anchor to anyone in the area to try it if you haven't already!

What can l say l tock my mother there for a lunch we not been since it had be changed hands and work done on it. Well we were not disappointed at all from the time we arrive to the time we left we were made so welcome. We had Milo are dog with us to he was well looked after as well with water and treat. The Caroline and her staff were fantastic anything we needed it was no trouble for them. We both had carvery they helped mum with hers and tock it to the table for her. The flavours were fantastic l had the beef which was cooked perfectly mum had gammon she loved there was no shortage of meat or vegetables everything was hot. We both decided to have a Dessert wow again we were not disappointed mum had the apple and pear crumble with custard and ice and l had the Honeycomb cheesecake with ice cream all home made. We also were lucky enough to meet the new owners they were lovely people they chatted with us. Wean we left both of us said we had had a amazing time. I would definitely recommend to anyone to go for just a lunch or a dinner with your love one or your family. We will definitely be go back soon Thank you Caroline and staff we see you soon.

First visit for an early evening dinner on a mid-April Monday. Understandably quiet in the dining room (maybe choose to sit in the bar next time). Friendly service and the food was excellent, turkey roast dinner looked good, and my steak and ale pie was absolutely packed with steak. Good value at 2023 prices. Will be going back.
