Restaurant Robin Hood

We held our captains day from pype hayes shaggy dogs golf division on thursday the 1st june when 28 or so members played here in a stableford competition over 18 holes. The day started with tea and coffee and a huge bacon bap which set us all up for the challenge that lay ahead. And believe me it was a challenge.Teeing off at 11 o'clock from immaculate tees,a good drive was needed to reach the fairway which proved to be the order of the day on most of the holes.The fairways were cut nice and short and the rough was not too. penalising.Bunkers were nicely raked with ample sand in them. Finally you arrived on the superb green cut to a speed that the pro's play on. A lot of our lads have not played on greens so quick and true so a session on the practice green was essential just to show you what was in store. The weather was perfect and the soup and roast chicken dinner + a nice cold pint afterwards rounded the day off perfectly. Scores were fairly average as you might expect with a few in the thirties, but that really did'nt matter as a good time was had by all. A great course,in great condition,great weather, and great company, well worth a visit. Thank you Robin Hood ground staff,you made it e joyable.
