A lovely country pub, staff are friendly and helpful. Food is amazing good quality produce used. Atmosphere is so relaxing plus they welcome our four legged friends. Can’t wait to go back!! Many thanks to the staff , Deb and Mick

Had a great lunch on Sunday 24th September. Food and service excellent and they take dogs.
Only reason it's 4 stars (normally 5 stars here) is that the sauce served with very tasty black pudding and pancetta croquettes was not a great pairing (mixture of sweet, creamy and taragon). Otherwise food and service faultless. Still one of my favourite pubs in Essex.

Lovely dog friendly pub with a gorgeous outdoor area and childrens playground. The food looked amazing but didn't tey it this time round. Will definitely be returning soon for dinner or lunch with the family. The perfect spot for any occasion, especially after a lovely dog walk.

A fabulous traditional pup in the middle of beautiful Essex countryside. Really lovely atmosphere, good food and a fantastic new huge awning outside with lights and heaters for when it turns cold. If you’re looking for a new place to go give the windmill a try. It’s gorgeous.

I've never eaten food at The Old Windmill that wasn't superb and this was no different! What a phenomenal birthday dinner it made. The pan-fried halibut and lobster tortellini topped with salmon caviar, on samphire, in a bisque was absolutely devine and quiet frankly a masterclass in fish cookery! The service was warm, relaxed and friendly but utterly professional and I insisted that the waiting staff pass my compliments to the chef, yet again 👌🏼
