Moored here overnight on my way up the flight. Nice food and beer and the service good. Interesting layout with tables set in different style 'booths' - quirky but nice. Clearly used by locals, the bar area had some interesting 'pub politics' conversations going on (putting the world to rights) - reminiscent of the days before pubs had to do food to stay in business. The locals were welcoming and friendly, as was the landlord. Sadly, my early getaway the next morning was somewhat thwarted by an empty pound a couple of locks up. However, not before the landlord, out on his morning walk, opened the gates of one the locks for me. Thank you 👍

Lovely place to eat or grab a drink in the summer as it has extensive outdoor seating (with parasols) along the side of the canal. I only give the food 4 stars because, although it's nicely cooked generous portions, the menu is a little limited and not somewhere you'd go for a gourmet selection -- but I've always been happy with the various meals I've had here.

Lovely pub, next to a canal with 2 fishing lakes and a caravan park. The food was excellent, with a specials menu for extra choice, also the best chips I have had (small fries) from any pub. The interior is very nicely done with separate booths to sit in, as well as the pub garden to eat your meal.

Our 1st visit ( recommended), the pub is in a secluded spot next to the canal. It has a caravan park and 2 fishing lakes, and a pub garden. The food on offer was excellent, and there is a Specials board for extra choice, they also serve the best chips( small fries) that I have had at any pub. The interior is very nicely fitted out, with separate booths, and you can have food in the garden if you prefer.

Lovely pub, that overlooks the canal and has a huge garden. They serve amazing home cooked, no-nonsense hearty meals. Staff are always friendly and provide a great service. The Blue Lias is (for me, anyway) what a proper pub should be. Very nostalgic and cosy.

Very nice break from travelling the canal. Excellent moorings with possibly moorings for about 8 boats. Great garden terrace with plenty of seating. Good food and a good selection of drinks. Well worth a visit!

A beautiful family run pub by a canal. Friendly landlady, good food, reasonable prices, welcoming interior and drinks to match. Just bring along family or friends! Ample car park. Highly recommended.
