Went there for afternoon tea over the weekend and it was lovely. The staff were all very attentive and welcoming. The food was lovely, so was the tea. I also enjoyed the atmosphere of this lovely historic building. I would definitely visit again.

We really enjoyed our time there for our afternoon tea. The place was immaculate. We were the first to come, so we enjoyed having the whole place to ourselves for a while. I must say how friendly and helpful staff is, with a professional attitude and manners 👌🏾. Not to forget, they were smiling all through the afternoon 😊 . I can't believe how the place has changed, and I love the refurbishment. Fabulous, from the bar to the toilets, and downstairs to the party room. Amazing work with more lights coming in ! 👏🏾 However, with regards to our food. We found some cakes a bit dry or not fresh. Furthermore, the layout of tables gave us enough space to move around and not to disturb the other guests.

Had a Lovely afternoon tea here, sandwiches were scrummy, they even did a special.one for our son who's 11. The cakes and scones didn't disappoint. Lovely building, helpful staff. The Grand cafe interior was quirky and a nice atmosphere.

Really impressed with the afternoon tea served here! In all honesty, I wasnt expecting anything great. For £24, at a bar in town...I thought it would be pretty standard. But, I will admit this was possibly one of my favourite afternoon teas I've had! The sarnies were great, and perfect portions! The sweet treats were delicious and beautifully presented!! We were offered a complimentary glass of prosecco when we arrived, and again as we were paying up! Service was great. Staff would check all was well and then left us to it, while remaining nearby should we need refills etc. Our table was 12-2.30, but we never felt rushed to leave (we left about 3.30!) and could have easily stayed there into the evening. Overall, we really enjoyed our afternoon and will definitely be booking again!! Thanks so much!

I had a wonderful afternoon with my daughter today. Service was faultless, and Calvin gave us a short history of this amazing building. I will remember my 70th birthday afternoon tea, for all the right reasons. Thank you. Angie.

The whole afternoon tea set-up was beautiful. The selection of sandwich fillings was ideal. We actually came to Grand Cafe because of these fillings. It can be hard to find afternoon tea with great fillings and these were gorgeous! In particular, I’ve got to celebrate the ambience! I’ve been to several awkward afternoon teas in hotels where you feel like an afterthought and it’s very quiet and uncomfortable. However, the music playing in the Grand Cafe, the amount of people there and the hosts made us feel so comfortable and part of something exciting! Absolutely loved it and will definitely return!

We really loved the atmosphere. It’s a nice interior here and of course you feel the connection with the old times and history. We had afternoon tea, it was fresh, and very tasty! And a good price and service.

We went to a Billy Joel/Elton john live music, 3 course meal cabaret. The food was very good, the starter was a chicken liver terrine, prawn and potato and leek soup. The main meal was lamb rack, lamb Wellington and potato and pea mash (there was a choice of main meal but not starter or dessert). The dessert was a lemon tart, chocolate mouse and berry salad. The service was very attentive and friendly and the décor was beautiful.
