The Red Lion Pub - Southampton - Photo album

A beautifully typical local pub! Good drinks at really good prices, everyone seemed to know everyone else, the service was friendly, and the food was excellent. We made several friends over the course of a few hours one evening. The clientale were also friendly and took an interest in us because we
A blast from the past for me. Revisiting my birth city from Australia. School group lunch reunion. Drinking warm English beer and their excellent Steak and Ale pie with definitely fresh veggies, none of this boil in a bag stuff.
Lovely welcome, character of the pub was great, the steak pie was like what grannie made full of meat unbelievably delicious 😋
If visiting Southampton on a cruise liner you must stop at this pub. Loads of history and a very nice setting for a beer or two. Henry 2nd liked it too.
Old school pub on the outskirts of Winchester with a beer garden. Nice array of options, especially for me as a vegan. Had the vegan roast, which was a pie (not just a pastry lid), which was very tasty, and lovely rich gravy. Pleasant staff and big portions. Very dog friendly too!
What a great place! The quintessential British pub! Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff and just to make things even better delicious food! Building has incredible history as well. Would definitely recommend!
Went for a trip to home town today, a history reminder of Southampton. This beautiful old public house has so much history. The staff were so happy and helpful, polite and funny. The food was good quality and reasonably priced. A clean friendly place to go. Bar billiard's table upstairs and a lovely
Nice old pub. Had drinks one day back for Sunday Roast just after. Really good food, service and drinks.
The outside doesn't really give you a clue to the inside... It seems really small as you walk through the door but then it opens up to the ceiling, quite incredible and completely unexpected It has more of medieval hall vibe than a pub It has a large open fireplace at one end, above there are 3 knig
A very old pub. Quick quiet pit stop mid afternoon so it was quiet. Efficient service and had some regulars in who seemed very at home creating a friendly atmosphere. Lots of phone calls whilst we were there for booking evening meals so sounds popular but food wasn't served at the time of our visit.
