Meals are lovely and worth ur money not expensive either I love there breakfast with unlimited tea or coffee! In evening it's always a great atmosphere bar staff are so friendly and welcoming always keep coming for food drinks and even the evening aswell

I usually venture down on a Sunday night for the pub quiz, not because its a particularly good quiz but because I'm often free on Sundays. I do feel however that The Spitfire deserves 4 stars and a beaming review because the staff are always so excellent. It is Wetherspoons-esque, but definitely a champion of that field.
It's incredible how you find yourself forking up a £20 tip at the end of a swanky meal in Jamie's for what can sometimes be a pretty ordinary and at times vague, uninterested service, yet here at the Spitfire the vibe feels honest and the people manning the bar are top notch (I didn't even see the tip-jar).
The food is reasonably priced and they accept NUS so don't expect fireworks but do expect a proper hit of satiety whilst still seeing change from a ten pound note. Sunday does have a quiz at 8pm with a very enthusiastic quiz-master and a solid 50 question serving of general knowledge. If it had an IT box it would be untouchable in its market.
This was a brilliant venue to visit, open as a nightclub after midnight which is exciting! Proper selection of tunes played, staff were chill and the atmosphere was booming. I had Guinness to drink and the disco ball on top adds to this scene!
Great atmosphere for a Saturday night, all age groups. Good service from bar staff. The band they had playing were good. Round of two double spiced rum & cokes for me and my friend £12.50 so pretty reasonable. I've paid at least £15-£20 for a round of 2 double rum & cokes elsewhere before. So drinks were pretty reasonable for a bar in the city centre on a Saturday night. We didn't eat so I can't comment on the food

Walked in on a Thursday night. The place was busy but not overwhelming found a nice booth seat at the back of the venue. Ordered through the app and found since I have never used the app before I was gifted a free drink. The music was fairly loud but was fair for the level of busyness of the bar. Ordered the food which was OK but for the price wasn't far off a wetherspoon. As the evening continued the vibe got more party would have stayed but work the next morning. I'm coming back next Thursday!!!!
Best food we had on a 3 week trip. I wanted a menu to frame after we returned home and Andy is sending it to me! I really didn’t expect a reply to my request. Very pleasantly surprised 😊
Great bar. Everything looks brand new. Looking forward to spending my weekends watching sports. And it becomes a busy place at night for students.
Great place 1st time I'd been there for a group meet omg bloody rugby on then a band then dj playing fantastic night out apart from rugby (that ain't my bag lol 😀) definitely would go again spent £42 for the night
Came on a staff night out. Rory was amazing and very attentive.
I jokingly asked for another meal as it was so good and he brought me a meal that was cooked by mistake, which was shared between a few of us.
Overall. Great atmosphere. Excellent customer service, and the food was fabulous from what I heard from the rest of the group. The drinks went down a treat, and nothing was too much.
We had a large sum to spend for our night out, with a lot of heavy drinkers, and there was a fair bit left over (food and drinks). So, I would say the pricing was pretty good.
