This kept coming up on FB so I thought I'd give it a go and I'm very pleased I did! Quirky, homely place with relaxing atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. And the food... WOW! I experienced the "Bubble and Chic" which gave the old bubble and squeak a delicious revamp and my son, who has an enormous appetite and is known to inhale food, was finally full from the "Big Kahuna" burger, which was basically half a cow in a bun that my son said was the best burger ever! The haloumi fries that we ordered as a side where a a step too far, a case of eyes bigger than belly but we still managed to eat half of the generous portion, would have been rude not to!Cannot recommend this place enough and will be returning ASAP, a real gem that reminds me of the old funky Southend.

- boyfriend had a proper mug of tea which he loved.
- lots of brie and spinach sauce on his Green Hornet burger too which was a bonus.
- the BBQ Jackfruit Barrito is one of the best (if not the best) vegan meal I've had, lots of flavour and plenty of food on the plate.
- customer service was great. The lady working today was so friendly and welcoming.
My only niggle is that I didn't come here sooner!

We have been meaning to go here for sometime now, after seeing all the positive reviews online. We went on Saturday at 12:30 and had a table booked, which turns out was a smart move! Even with outside seating people were turned away because the place was full! I had a special jerk chicken burger and the misses a saltbeef bap thing, plus we split a side of prawn & battered pork belly. The food was great and the service friendly but not overly familiar.
For the food you get (freshly prepared) the price is more than fair.
Pros - Good food - Good price - nice staff - independent local business
Cons - small establishment (not an issue if you book like we did)

Always a great place to eat, delicious food, friendly staff and owners. Absolutely recommended. Revisited again recently and as good as ever. The Walter White is a regular order, I want to try so many things but I keep coming back to it.
I ordered food for collection through their app which is great and easy to use (with the bonus of 10% off your first order 👍🏻). I had a very short wait when I arrived to collect, as the food was still being prepared. Which was great as it meant my food was fresh and hot. The lady who served me was lovely. We had one of their family sharing platters which was utterly delicious🤤. An all-round great experience from ordering to eating. I look forward to eating from here again.
This is the second time that I've visited Legend Deli. We went for a valentine's day lunch and was not disappointed. Fantastic food, great service, and a relaxed atmosphere. For what you get, as you can see from the the size of the hot chicken and gravy sandwich in the photograph, the prices are very reasonable, and the quality fantastic. Highly, highly recommend a visit.
Their sunday roasts are just like your nans 11/10 totally banging, unless you were very unlucky and yours didn't know how to cook haha. The staff here are also very nice, helpful and really polite too. Definitely the best place in town to eat. Thank you.
Great food delivered piping hot, best fries I've had for a long time, MASSIVE portions, great sauces, spot on jollof with peas (black beans) and all cooked to perfection.
I struggle to find take aways who offer non meat proteins besides cheese, so it's great that they have a really good soya chaap option for the gyros and jollof boxes too, which works perfectly. Can't recommend enough 👌
Husband and I both poorly. So ordered a roast and dessert. Was absolutely delicious thank you so much. Will know to order less next time as very generous portion size. Who is gonna feed us now until you open again on Wednesday?
Visited as they opened Saturday, with visiting family for Brunch. Was not disappointed, another table was served before us and we were apologised to, however, we were having sausages ! and to get a decent sausage cooked fresh! the short wait was understandable. Good choice of menu, which was previously accessed online before we decided to try. We were happy with our visit, food and service, and it seems like a place that would get very busy at times.
