Great spot with very nice food. Thoroughly enjoyed the coq au vin and sticky lamb dishes, and the cod goujons from the kids was very good and great value. My daughter also loved the Bumbleberry juice! The only negative on the food front was the chips with the kids meal were so over salted it could'v
There was a couple of issues over food, but staff was excellent & everything solved quickly Apart from that nice place lively good atmosphere Staff friendly
A quiet, elegant dining room, helpful staff and terrific choice of music from 1960's through to early 1980's while we were there. A lovely meal and attentive but not intrusive service. The only downside was access, impossible for a wheelchair. A very pleasant experience and the best part of our day
This place was the perfect way to experience English culture! We walked around southend and just had to come in! The scones and tea were delicious as well as the different burgers and chicken meals they had! Definitely have no complains about the service here! It was lovely and perfect! Love the sta
Visited Southend in Sea and popped for Sunday lunch at The Royal. One of the best lunches I have ever tasted. Sat outside overlooking the sea. Service was good, quick and polite. Food arrived piping hot. Good price for 2 courses.
Great service, fun friendly staff. Coronation chicken wrap and ships were excellent. Beetroot humous needed more flavour. Scotch egg was good. Tried the Maldon wine, decent. Good prices.
We have just had a celebration of life service and wake in the ballroom of the royal hotel and I can’t praise them enough. From the initial enquiry with them and every interaction since they have been amazing and Sidonie the organiser has been fantastic. They couldn’t do enough for us and have suppo
Our first visit to the royal and on the off chance tickets for the comedy club were available .. didn't eat at the royal but food looked amazing 👍 Had such a funny night staff went above and beyond Entertainment was fabulous really enjoyed ourselves Will revisit as down stairs bar looked good 👍
I've been coming here for a while now and can not fault the place. It's classy, staff are great and service is good even with these covid restrictions. Actually the one fault I can bring up, (because nothings perfect) is the 10 crisps you get when you order a "bowl" of crisps at £1.50...other than t
Amazing food, amazing choice of alcohol and lovely staff perfectly situated so you can people watch with a cold crisp glass of wine or unique cocktails. Ps Salmon Roulade was off the scale
Food and service way above what I expected. Very friendly staff, and that chef...make sure you pay him well or you'll lose him for sure. Only moan was cheese cake portion was way to small for price. Will go back again👍🏻
Celebrated my wife's 50th here in the ballroom. Was a fantastic evening and a good time was had by all. Thanks to the staff.
Went with my partner for his birthday dinner and cocktails on a Thursday night which was steak night..the food was amazing and the staff went above and beyond with their service ..even making us cocktails that weren't on the menu x Will definitely recommend The Royal Hotel 👌
Only popped in after a stroll down the peer and ordered food and cocktails. The food was excellent and for the price we paid well worth the money. I've ate in places where you pay twice as much and the food isn't a patch on the Royal Hotel food. The staff were helpful and friendly, we had a nice c
