Booked a table for 5 at Sunday lunch period, they were allowing some walk ins but a lot of the tables were reserved for bookings. Staff were friendly and curtious. Wide Range of food options for a Sunday, on option we picked was not available, but they explained this was due to low uptake of that specific meal.
Mains were delivered very quickly compared to some other pubs/restaurants we have been to recently. Food was piping hot and well cooked and all enjoyed their meals ( so much so I forgot to get a photo before we had eaten them, this posted are taken before we finished off the deserts and left clean bowls/plates!)
We had deserts and they were well presented and balanced.
All in all we had a lovely time and great food and service.
A brilliant family run pub. The staff are so friendly. Food lovely and Sunday roast one of the best I've ever had. Very reasonably priced. We go to this pub on a regular basis. Remember support your local pub to keep it.
We had my wife's 40th their last night and as always the team were amazing . The lounge function room was brilliant and the staff from run up and onwards were fantastic ❤️ we tailored our buffet slightly which again went down brilliantly and everything was effortless 👏 highly recommended and full praise to this venue it is and for as long as I remember the best pub in Southport 🎉
Good old fashioned Sunday dinner. Good selection of meat and veg and service was good. Food served nice and hot at very reasonable price.

The atmosphere is great! On Fridays you can go and enjoy the quizzes, good music and you can find a good variety of beers! It's a nice and clean place to have a good time!
Brilliant staff , always go out if their way to accommodate you. Food very reasonable priced. Have visited several times with family and service is always great.

Everything is great. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The food is the best we’ve had anywhere by miles. The chips in particular were a big hit with everyone.
I have a few food allergies and they were really helpful and knowledgeable about ingredients. They cook all the meat on the premises. For example the gammon is a large joint, double boiled etc and carved then griddled. So it’s not one of those places where the food is precooked/prepared elsewhere and then reheated.
The positive experience wasn’t an isolated event either, as some of the people in our group had been a few times before.
There was a large group of people there who meet once a month every month - which says it all really. 100% recommended. Our compliments to the chef and staff.
The cheese cake is to die for! But all the food was very good, very friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Called in last weekend for a drink with my partner . Room to sit down but 3 local men told my partner she couldn't sit down because the seats where for friends of their's, and coming in later for the Liverpool game. We asked one of the staff to find us a seat. After a while of standing around we where told we could sit by the door on a high table on high stools. I counted 11 empty tables with reserved notices on them. We are in out 70,'s and my partner who was told she couldn't sit down is black. I'm a ex long term military Army. Neither of us thought we had been treated with any respect at all. But we are not local. Barry

I've visited this pub many times and I've never had a complaint. Good old fashioned pub food at a great price. It is a sports pub and so I am marking it as such, the TVs about are fantastic and you can view it from a good range of places in the pub. However there is also plenty of space for those that do not want to watch the match including a very pleasant and substantial conservatory area as well as a second bar for function events. I have been here for a wake and the spread put on was fantastic. A great outside area, partially covered, and although our dog could not go inside, a member of management came out with all the trimmings of the days roasts in a container for the dig, and he was extremely pleased. Lovely atmosphere and very clean. There is a good protected parking area to the rear as well as free street parking in the vicinity. Great prices too.
