The Confectionary

Getting treats from The Confectionary is a tradition with my family for our visits to Oak Island! The mild-mannered exterior does not do justice to the amazing treats that wait inside! We order a cake ahead of time to pick up when we arrive. We also go get some of their amazing cinnamon rolls a couple of times during the week. Go early or you won't get them! Or order ahead to make sure you get what you want.

Bobbi did a fantastic job with our wedding cake!. We were coming from out of state for our ceremony and went by referral. Not only did she have a perfect understanding the design concept but, also the cake itself. It was delicious! This is a “must go to” place if your in or around Southport! Don’t miss out... 1 year later we cut the cake topper & can I tell you, it was just as good as it was on our wedding night!!

My daughter got married 4 years ago and they did the cake for her wedding...it was awesome! Their desserts are marvelous. Cupcakes are fantastic and the wonderful cinnamon buns are Soo yummy. Don't miss giving into the temptation and trying all the goodies. My favorite other than the wedding cake, would have to be the orange cupcakes and the banana pudding cupcakes. This is a must if you are visiting the area...it's a good thing I live 5 hours away otherwise I would be as big as a house..lol.

Thank you Bobby for every single one of my birthday cakes since 2003. This one was super special-- mom and dad got it right! Chocolate on chocolate!!! I loved the sprinkles!!! I wish I could post a pic. Whenever anyone asks about cupcakes or cakes I mention you. Your cakes are outstanding and the best in the entire area. Thank you.

The Confectionary is my favorite bakery in the Southport/Oak Island area. I've tried their cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, pies, and cakes, and everything has been excellent and reasonably priced. We love the cherry crumb pie and lemon cupcakes with key lime filling. I ordered a full-size lemon cake with key lime filling for a birthday today, and it's one of the best cakes we've ever had, and beautifully decorated, too. They are located on Long Beach Road and will be impacted by the upcoming bridge closure, so please go out of your way to find this place to ensure they are still there when the bridge reopens. It's worth the extra time in the car.

It took me awhile to get to this place when I first moved to the area the outside doesn't look like anything special, but as soon as you walk in you can tell you found a treasure trove of goodies. Every baked good is made by hand by 2 women and you can tell they really know what they are doing. The display looks like you are walking into grandmas house and as soon as you walk in it will be hard not to buy everything there. I will be coming back to this place as much as my blood sugar level allows. The people are really nice and all of the baked food is wonderful! Comfy home setting inside.

Bobbie provided the wedding cake for my Holden Beach wedding on 4/28. We went for the tasting and chose three layers and flavors. We chose a key lime coconut, a white cake with raspberry filling, and an almond layer as well. All three were absolutely incredible. I gave Bobbie my vision, (beach wedding, shells and fish, along with my colors, navy and coral) and she went with it. I told her I was a less is more type of girl, and I didn't need anything crazy over the top. I did not see my cake until the day of the wedding when it was time to cut the cake! I was so happy with it. It was simple and elegant and the colored chocolate seashells on top was a very sweet touch. The cake tasted just as good as it looked, and several guests told me they had seconds! (my husband and i split one piece, and by the time we came back for a full piece, there was none left!!) The guests couldn't stop talking about how it was the best wedding cake they had ever tasted. I can't wait until my one year wedding anniversary so i can call Bobbie up to have another small cake made for us to eat! Anyone in Brunswick County, NC needs to have Bobbie create your cake.

Bobbie made my dreams come true. She catered our wedding and made food that my guests are still craving and talking about. She made all the food with the taste of love. My guests are raving about her food; they even want her recipes! Her wedding cake was flawlessly gorgeous and she has sheet cakes ready to serve. I would recommend that if you have the time to sit down and plan you meal with her for your event, you won't be sorry. Thank you Bobbie for EVERYTHING!
