Pearl And Ash Cafe And Wine Bar

Since Pearl & Ash has been taken over by the owners of Ferry Road Markets they've made a huge turn around. The food and service has improved 100% and its now one of my go to cafes. Great for breakfast or lunch. The menu is concise with a separate breakfast and lunch menu and a short adequate wine list for a cafe

I'm a local and have visited this place many times. you never know what kind of service you're going to get. More often than not, it won't be great. Wait staff have an attitude and treat customers like they are a bother. Today was my last visit to this place. The staff were trying to make us sit in a busy noisy section as they were closing down their large seating area as they didn't have enough staff to service it (not sure why it's so hard to keep it open until closure?!?) What's the point of having such a large spacious cafe if you are going to cram everyone in once tiny area? After we declined and insisted on sitting where we wanted, the waitress very rudely scoffed at us while slapping her arms on her thighs and rolling her eyes at us! We sat down and got our menus, then the assistant manager came up 2 minutes later telling us we have to move and they need to close the area. Meanwhile, there were other people still eating there. It's unacceptable, to go to a place where you are spending high dollar, and to feel like you are not wanted there and it's a bother to serve you. Being told where you can and cannot sit because they can't be bothered walking an extra couple of meters. This place doesn't deserve my money.

If you like the traditional breakfast with a twist you'll find this cafe's menu very interesting! I've ordered an Eggs Benedict with crab, that even though the hollandaise was a bit overpowering the flavours, the breakfast was still delicious. They also have fresh juices which is always a plus for me!
