Really amazing food, lovely decor, service was spot on, couldn't fault the experience. Food was very tasty and the lunch menu offer is very good value. You have to try the cocktails, they are so good, a bit different, but amazing! Will def be coming back. Love the decor also, and it was busy, but not super busy which was nice as you can have a conversation without it feeling too loud!

Visited the Abbey tonight with friends for the first time, I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to visit and try this wonderful restaurant. The decor is lovely and works well keeping in the St Albans theme, lots of mirrors to keep the venue bright and open. The food and service didn’t disappoint, the Goats Cheese starter was wonderfully light and flavourful. The main course Lamb was very well cooked and tasted wonderful. We will be visiting again very soon, they have a superb upstairs space for private events too.

Omg omg omg. The best sunday roast I've ever had. The beef was sublime. Gravy to die for. Lots of perfectly roasted vegetables. Lashings of horseradish. Honestly it was wonderful. The pate with caviar was a great starter. And the mousse dessert was sweet and delicate. The waiters were attentive and very friendly. What a great restaurant. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Good, tasty lunch at Ology Brasserie St.Albans. Adequate, short, interesting menu. Two duck flatbread and chips, with garlic mayo. Friendly, efficient service and good, relaxed atmosphere. Nice glass ceiling and a mirrored wall make it light and seem spacious. A welcome addition to the area. £15 for main, side and house drink. Good value!

Amazing food, let down by staff unfortunately. Nice enough but just not on top of things, slow and inattentive. Went for my birthday meal, my mum asked before we arrived if they could do something special, they agreed to do so on dessert but then did nothing. Mum was too embarrassed to bring it up but fair to say it made the birthday celebrations a little less special. Shame.

I had my 30th birthday at Ology last week, everything from the food, the drinks, the hosting and the atmosphere was bang on. Thanks so much Simon and Kate!

Fantastic food every time I have eaten here several times since it opened earlier this year. Been as a couple, as a family and with friends. Every meal has been really high quality food, very difficult to fault. Last night I started with Cured Chalk Stream trout with horseradish crème fraiche which was really tasty without disguising the flavour of the trout. Friends found the wobbly bottom cheese and beetroot and chowder excellent. I had the Brown sugar glazed short rib with celeriac puree, fennel remoulade & pomegranate for a main and it was slow cooked and super tender and full of flavour. The side dishes of spring greens and fries were great, the greens al-dente and full of flavour whilst the fries were crisp and not at all oily. Medjool date & Kahlua crème brûlée, with fresh figs & walnut cookies for dessert was again very tasty although had the only fault I could find - for me the brulee was not set as much as I would like but I am nit-picking. The place is popular and being in an historic building on George street there is not masses of space and the restaurant can be a little noisy when full. There are two private function rooms upstairs for larger groups. Personally I would like an option for an ale of some sort - there are plenty of good bottled IPAs available these days, The service is great and I will continue to return for excellent food at a reasonable price.

Phenomonal. A fantastic addition to George Street. Popped in the other day for lunch and pleasantly surprised. Firstly, the decor is lovely, with a unique taste that is so refreshing, that when combined with the atmosphere is lovely. There is plenty of seating and my one of my favourite choices is the seating area towards the back where the mirrors along with the skylight really brighten the room and make you just want to sit there all day having a drink. Regarding the drinks there is plenty to choose, from cocktails, to spirits to wine, that are all reasonably priced. The lunch menu followed through with also being brilliant value, and I must say the food was delicious. I have had some burgers in my time *pats gut* but this was the nicest I have had. Furthermore, I admired that the lunch menu did not bombard you with 100's of choices, it was easy and straight forward, as I tend to find a lot of places during lunch assault you with millions of choices and it becomes exhausting. Finally, the staff are delightful, attentive and incredibly polite. Overall, brilliant value and brilliant quality. It was a fantastic brasserie and I will be going there in the future to try their dinner menu. I highly recommend you go!

My friend and I had a wonderful Sunday lunch here at the weekend. The cocktails were amazing and the food was outstanding. We chose the mackerel starter, it was tasty and just enough. The roast beef was hands down the best roast I have ever had. Plenty of veg and all full of flavour. Surprised that they don’t make their own yorkshires but maybe they’re too busy ensuring that everything else is so good. Only very slight negative for me was that I wasn’t keen on the live music. It’s a very small restaurant and although they were really quite good they probably would’ve been more appreciated on an evening. That’s just me though. Really can’t wait to go again!

Went here with three girlfriends for dinner yesterday. Was exactly what we'd hoped for. A relaxing place to eat with nice ambience, friendly service and great food! Some interesting tapas dishes to choose from. I chose Cuban meatballs, rustic fries and their broccoli 'special dish' which had some lovely, authentic flavours. The bottle of Cote du Rhone we shared was fabulous too. Thank you for a lovely evening. We will be back.
