It was quiet on a Saturday afternoon but clean tidy and Amstel was 70p a pint cheaper than the Mermaid across the road, also has a pool table

First Sunday night pub quiz
Not very busy but still had a good atmosphere. Will be going again ;)

Nice pub in At Alban's, just a little off the main high street. There are tables if you want to stay down for a meal, as well as other seating. There are comfortable couches, armchairs and stools around a performance area with live music of different kinds, depending on the theme of the evening.

Great local with cozy garden, pool table and great selection of drinks

🍷 Enjoying a lovely glass of red wine. Very friendly staff and not too crowded on a Sunday afternoon.

Lovely atmosphere, a tail wagging welcome from Elvis the resident pub dog, staff also very welcoming and friendly. Food was amazing, good size portions. Service relaxed, not hurried or stressed. Good selection of wines. Will return and recommend.

What a lovely place, the decor is relaxed and cool and funky, sofas everywhere, little nooks and crannies to sit it. There is a garden bit with the usual picnic tables, but they throw in some deckchairs as well. The selection of booze is good. All in all, cracking place to visit. Go for it

I have had a few drinks here in the past. Nice atmosphere and there has been some splendid live music and the DJ on Friday nights. I've had many a good night in this pub. Highly recommended.
Wattsie Live

For a great evening out full of fun karaoke and dancing, you have to try the Peacock. Oh and the have the best cocktails this side of the country, also other theme night, but I go for the karaoke, even if you don't sing they do have talent in there also.

First time here for lunch as I was passing through St Albans. The menu, staff, service, atmosphere are all excellent. I ate a delicious salmon dish and will return. Bravo team Peacock and thank you 👏👌

Really amazing pub !
Friendly landlord and staff, SUPERB food... I recommend the herb crusted salmon with potatoes. I then had a delicious succulent chocolate brownie with ice cream. It was yummy :-)
Highly recommended if you're looking for somewhere great to eat at affordable prices in St Albans. Plenty of parking as well. It's been renovated and has a modern, but subdued and warm cosily lit decor.
They run regular events, including a great psychic night !

Wow what a lovely pub! Beautiful interior, very friendly and welcoming staff, and delightful drinks and food menu (plus great background music). There are complimentary nuts and sweets dotted around the pub in vintage bottles which is a lovely touch. We spent the afternoon enjoying drinks and then ordered the roast platters and it was absolutely delicious and great value.
I'd never been into the Peacock until today and probably never would have before the refurbishment. It's worlds apart from what it used to be and as a local I'm so pleased to have a lovely pub just around the corner.

A great looking pub with two for one cocktails, however the waitress was sweeping the tables and took my cocktails unless I was holding them in my hand. When I complained they did nothing about it. Very disappointed. I would not recommend.

We have nothing but positive things to say about the pub and staff at The Peacock. Our engagement party went smoothly from booking to leaving- food was great, and the staff were so friendly! I cannot thank you enough for making the party even more special!

We went to the Peacock for our office Christmas lunch. The food was fantastic, staff really friendly and helpful. Excellent place to eat.

Lovely establishment, staff are always friendly, beautiful decoration and amazing home-made food would rate 6 stars if I could!!

We had Christmas Dinner here yesterday and it was very nice. They catered for me as a gluten free diner without any hassle. The beef was cooked really well - all four of us had it. It was fantastic to not have to wash up after too!!!

I was raised in pubs and can honestly say that I have experienced the very worst service I have ever encountered in my extremely varied and broad experience of global hospitality at this venue. Rude, hostile, abrupt, inept, ‘on Facebook’ and as others have said, they kicked us out of the pub at around 10:50 on a THURSDAY night. Now, I am quite confused about the business model at The Peacock, because somebody hasclearly spent a lot of money refurbishing and repositioning this venue. There is clear investment and intent to make it a going concern. It’s a great location and the nearest pub to my house. Sadly it is just very badly run: the bar staff are so rude, poorly trained and under skilled that it would appear to be harder to employ people more ill suited to their jobs. Is The Peacock a tax loss venture? Perhaps the pub is a money laundering shell? Either way it’ll take more than these some of the clearly fake reviews here on Facebook to entice me back to this place. I am genuinely really interested in discovering who owns it, and if they know how badly it is being managed. I am looking forward to seeing this post buried under some more fake and glowing reviews from people I can only assume are friends of the manager, morons, or possibly both.
