Took my son there for a meal on 19 - 9 - 17. This was the 2rd time I had a meal here. I can honestly stat still the best cod and chips I've eaten for a long time. I would most definitely recommend Becks to anyone. The staff are always helpful and friendly. One lady that really makes the restaurant is Margaret, with her warm friendly welcome. Keep up the good work and never change. Steve Jones from Worcester..

We have various dietary needs in our family; gluten free plus milk and egg free... It is rare to find somewhere we can all eat out together, but we could at Becks! We really felt we could trust them to pay close attention to our dietary needs and they didn't disappoint, thank you so much! The food was delicious.

Discovered this wonderful place several years ago and will not eat fish and chips anywhere else while in Cornwall. The food us amazing, the staff kind and attentive and the restaurant decorated beautifully and so clean. If we have two weeks holiday then we go twice. Two of my grandchildren love it too. Thank you Becks for all you do.

Visited here last night with my son and husband. Check the opening times as it closes early at 8pm. And it is closed on a Sunday and Monday. We eat in the restaurant and have had our best meal yet on holiday. It has a real oldie worldie charming feel to it inside. When you enter, there is a sign saying go to the far end of the bar to be seated. In short, the lady takes your name, asks you to buy drinks at the bar, and then goes that's done. You'll be taken to your seat. Food is made to order, but ours came out quickly. Brillant kids menu. See pic plus colours and activity sheet kept our boy busy. The fish and chips were perfection! Fresh, crispy batter and light. Curry sauce was fab, too. Paying gets done at the front, and when you're ready to leave. Old fashion hospitality and service which is friendly and welcoming. Nothing seemed rushed or crowded or hectic, which was lovely. Huge portions. Highly recommend this is a hidden gem. Although i don't think it's hidden from the reviews and how busy it was. There is also a takeaway on the side.

Becks Fish & Chips was one of the restaurants we had to try whilst in St. Ives. Unfortunately they were closed on Sunday & Monday, so we visited on Tuesday. We hadn’t checked the closing times, so walked in 15 minutes before closing. They were incredibly nice and let us dine in past their closing time. It seems like a family run business, with hostesses making sure everyone is happy with the food and service. The fish was incredible fresh and the fried mushrooms were the best that I’ve ever had.

Great place to dine for fish and chips. Very traditional and family run place. I really enjoyed it in there. My fish was a bit oily for my liking and but other then that it's a great place to eat.

Best Fish and Chips we have ever had! We were staying down on The Lizard but drove 45 mins to Carbis Bay just to get Gluten free fish and chips from Becks as i had read good reviews, they didn't disappoint and were well worth the drive! It was my birthday and being celiac I hadn't had fish and chips in nearly a decade so wanted it as a treat, and it really was! My husband had normal cod and chips and my son had veggie burger and chips which they both said were delicious too! We shared some gluten free onion rings which were amazing!!!! Thank you so much Becks. We will definitely come again next time we are in Cornwall.

Probably one of the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. Definitely worth a visit. They even provided my wife with freshly grilled haddock, without batter. Perfect for her.

Nobody can leave here without a full stomach and a conversation about "proper food" and fond memories of great family chippy teas. One of the best we've ever been to. Great people work here too, and there's a lovely atmosphere while you eat. This was January and they were very busy. Here's to another 50 years and deservedly so.

My husband and I went to Becks Fish & Chips during our visit to Carbis Bay. One could tell that it is a very popular amongst the locals as there was a bit of a wait on a Saturday evening. The staff was kind and helpful and there were enough seats while waiting. We ordered the prawn cocktail, the fish and chips (with cod) and the fish pie. The prawn cocktail was delicious and one could taste how juicy and succulent the prawns were. The fish and chips was excellent as well. The batter was crispy and the fish was fresh. I enjoyed the fish pie as well which came with a fish and prawns mixture topped with a lovely cheesy mash! The portion sizes were good and we left the restaurant feeling full :)

Great fish and chips, fish pie, fish curry. Lots of other options too but quality not as good as the fish and chips (understandably). Great service and parking. Desert (lemon meringue pie) very disappointing. It looked good and it when I asked it was recommended... However I think it was made in a factory, fozen then reheated. Not great. Very odd texture and didn't taste of lemon or meringue (amazingly). Stick to the ice cream if you need a dessert

Really enjoyed it here. Nice bar waiting area (the Offshore Pilsner really hit the spot). Service a little hit and miss but just need to keep this in mind and chase where needed, really good food, fantastic overall value. The decor is pure 1970s, although it's spotlessly clean. Enjoyable time warp evening, definitely recommended for a visit.
