This has got to be the best place for eating in the East Neuk. Casual dining during the day/fabulous food and laid back but efficient service. Dinner is served during the summer months at weekends so booking is essential. Can't fault anything on the menu and once again, friendly and efficient service. Oh and during the day dogs are welcome....a welcome retreat after a coastal walk. Don't miss a visit if you're in the area. If you don't want a meal, you can sit outside with a drink or buy some of the goodies on sale in the shop.....try the smoked nuts, yum!

My favourite place in the East Neuk. We love to sit on the deck with the dog whatever the weather. The location is perfect. Freshest seafood you will ever eat and prices you won't believe. A whole lobster for ÂŁ22.50!! Crab cakes are amazing and the dish I will never tire of ordering. Just wish they were open all year.

The East Pier Smokehouse is a delight! Perched right on the water, upstairs one gets the feeling of being on the prow of a ship. I can’t believe they can do all they do out of a little kitchen - go out of your way to visit the Smokehouse on the harbour at St Monans.

the one and only Scotland's finest smoked French Cheese. The view is amazing, we could stay the entire day . The visit can be complete only if you try pasteis de nata (portuguese dessert)

Delightful lunch at the East Pier Smokehouse today. As we had our pooch with us we were seated in the gazebo - an fab location overlooking the waves. We had starters, main course and dessert - all of which were delicious. Our servers were young and friendly, nothing too much trouble. The atmosphere was relaxed and informal - the perfect lunch, can’t wait to return.

Love, love, love this restaurant. The smoked prawn tempura and the fish kebab were absolutely delicious, I definitely chose well. The fish and seafood is always cooked perfectly. The service is friendly and efficient. Making a reservation is a must for this restaurant.

After a friend’s recommendation, we booked in advance and enjoyed a lovely lunch outside. One Pittenweem prawns, and one Vietnam salmon kebab - beautiful! The highlight for me was the starter - crab croquettes with a lovely pesto. Seafood for us will never be the same again. The staff were great - so attentive! Dog friendly outside too! Beam me back!

Worthy of regular pilgrimage from Edinburgh. The tempura prawns are the best, washed down with a chilled rose wine or local beer, on the top outside deck or harbour side when the weather is fine. I love this place!

WOW! What a find! We didn’t have a reservation but the staff managed to fit us in upstairs. Great view on a sunny Sunday afternoon! We couldn’t make our mind up from the menu so ordered 5 small plates plus a side salad and chips! The Smoked Octopus was Fantastic! Definitely worth a visit!

Absolutely delectable…. Astoundingly delicious…. Amazingly Delightful….. This place is just fantastic. The food ranges from fresh local seafood to some meat dishes and some lovely simple desserts. The way they smoke the seafood here is very unique because it can range from a light touch to some a little heavier. The Hake is one of my personal favorites alongside the scallops. The Sea Bass as well is quite marvelous. My favorite way of ending a meal here is the new Ukrainian apple pie (more of a cake) with cream and strawberries. Local owners who care about their customers and staff. Delicious food with a beautiful view. The definition of five stars.

Staying on holiday literally across the road to the East Pier. Liked the look of the menu and booked for a Sunday evening. Had seen some review and thought it would be a treat. Was not disappointed. The octopus starter was excellent, and the smoked hake was stunning. Neither overpowering, but full of flavour. My wife had the halloumi which was also very good. No room inside when booking but the sheltered terrace was lovely to sit in, with the provided blankets and overhead heaters. The host offered move us inside when there was space but we were comy, and enjoyed the harbour sounds. The staff were quick, efficient and personable. A credit to the place. Would definitely eat here again given the chance.
