Review The Five Oaks - St Saviour

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch and came across this place. There is plenty of free parking. The menu was well priced and had a good choice. It was a sunny day, and the outside seating area was lovely and comfortable. Good choice of beers, etc. The food was served quickly. We are on holiday for 2 weeks and we will definitely return before we have to leave.

Went on Sunday 11th June for my mum birthday. She in a wheel chair and staff were fantastic making her very comfortable. Excellent food and service. Sat outside after in the sunshine and staff brought drinks to our table . Also no problem with someone in our party who is gluten free Highly recommend. Many thanks

All in all a good meal. It was a Monday night and the place only had a handful of people in it. To start, a simple cauliflower soup, I say simple but boy it was lovely and smooth and packed full of flavour followed by Barnsley lamb chop. Personally I would have liked it just a bit more on the pink side, but still very tasty. Noting that restaurants/ pubs have only just re opened i think the staff need to know the menu a little better and to be able to advise on what can and can't be eaten by people with special dietary requests. But they were really friendly and welcoming, hats of to you for that. I place I will go back to, esp as I want to try the ham hock.

Friendly welcome and a good choice menu. We all enjoyed our main meals which were tasty but also served on warm plates which makes such a difference. The gammon ham with eggs went down a treat, so did the chicken and beef burgers. The Thai mussels were the best served with chips and lightly toasted bread. It was quite busy for a Monday early dinner but nothing was too much trouble for the smiling and happy staff. Easy parking too. Thank you for making our evening out so pleasant and enjoyable.

This place has a great decor, which is reminiscent of some more upscale places. The food was really, really good, and it was the first place I've visited that served freshly made pies, and it was delicious. Overall this gastropub is more of a decent restaurant that it may be of a pub - positive finding for sure.

Didn't care much for the atmosphere of this place. Lovely bar but caters more for the local people and rightly so I suppose.

Enjoyed the pie and the haddock, the shop of the day (tomato) was better than my vocabulary has wird for. And the beer is always good 😉

Not tried the food here since 2017 which we were not impressed with but it seems that a lot has changed in the last few years here. The decor is very comfortable and clean. There are booths to eat at which are still open enough to include you as a guest of the whole pub while offering a little privacy. While I only had a coffee, it was a well made coffee tasting fresh without a bitter taste. I would guess that they are using the large barrels of coffee bean to stay that fresh. Staff were attentive and well dressed and polite. The ambiance of the place is very welcoming and homely without being garish. A very nice place to go to.

fantastic food and service, Jackie and martin are always so welcoming and friendly, its never a struggle to dine out with my little one at the Five Oak Eating House. Richard the chef always makes the effort to say hello when hes not cooking up the fantastic food and the staff are always so accommodating and friendly when we pop into the bar area for that after dinner coffee or wine :) Highly recommend for that family outing out or that cheeky little date night x
