Very nice pub, less than a 5 minute walk from the train station with a good range of ales, lagers and spirits. I tried the Pig on the Wall from the local Black Country Brewery which was very moreish and although we didn't have food it did look good and very well priced. The pub is split into various
Definitely a contender for one of the best pubs in the Black Country Ales chain. It was busy just after 12 noon, which was good to see. No drama to try before you buy with the sociable male bartender. Look forward to popping back.

A really cosy little gem in the heart of Stafford. Staff are really friendly and the carvery is amazing! They even do a dog carvery which our dog Merlin loved. Really dog friendly. Great range of real ales and ciders too. Would definitely recommend.
I used to drink here as a student 50 years ago. I am very pleased to say nothing has changed for the worse. They now serve far better food and beer but the atmosphere is the same. TV was way too loud though.. I am not that deaf yet. Though I might be if I sit in the front bar too often.
Was here for a Civil Partnership reception on Saturday. Old pib vibes inside with a more modern outside seating space (lots of seats & rain cover) The staff were all friendly & helpful The buffet food was a good standard The atmosphere was nice Loos, we're well kept. I think we might try their Sunda
Love this place. It’s a REAL pub. Great range of ales, nice food and fabulous service. Bar area, lounge with real fire and a lovely outdoor area. The staff are great. You can try thirds of all the ales. #RealAle
We were looking for a place to eat with the dog. Very happy with our choice. Good valve, tasty pub grub. We had a lovely welcome and our dog was made very welcome.
Lovely food, good service, traditional friendly pub & fairly priced). Not many pubs left now that offer a wide range of food choices (in Stafford). Would recommend we support local businesses like the Bird. Would visit again.
Ignore any poor reviews, we ate here tonight lovely quality food very well priced, great choice of beers super friendly staff, probably the best pub in town.
