Nicely refurbished, retaining the essence of the old cinema. Can get busy, especially when it is lunchtime at the local college, but other than that it is a peaceful relaxing place to stop at during the day. There are a number of tables inside, on different levels, due to the original slope for the cinema, and a small outside terrace by the side of the river.

Good food and hot drink refills are always a bonus (including hot chocolate). Iconic portraits of actors who have (possibly) been forgotten. Old cinema chairs on the upper levels give you a feel of yester-year.

A well organised Wetherspoon. The staff are well trained and focussed on offering exceptional customer service. The selection of beer, lager, cider, wine, spirits and soft drinks are second to none in the pub trade. Food is great value and well presented. The extensive menu caters for many tastes. Children are well catered for in terms of food, drink and colouring. There is extensive outdoor seating to enjoy when the weather is fine. Well worth a visit for an excellent drinks selection and good pub food.

What a fantastic building, thank you Wetherspoon for restoring and retaining our heritage. Beautiful features. Nice light and airy. The beer garden was spoilt by smokers using the no smoking areas. Had a pepperoni pizza which was very nice, great value as usual. Staff were nice and efficient. Building and tables looked clean.

My go to place to have breakfast in Stafford. I have tried the traditional English breakfast and miners benedict with blood pudding 🩸. It’s absolutely delicious. My wife orders the mushroom benedict which is a good option for vegetarians.

Surely one of the most unique pubs in UK. You can not find many old cinemas convened into pub so beautifully. Every time some comes to visit me in town I take them there with pride to have good pub food and good drinks. The place is kept normally very clean and tidy despite that some times it gets a little crowded.

Had no idea how lovely this pub is from the outside. Was a really nice surprise when we saw the layout and the seating on different levels. A lot of the features are still original, with the ceiling being a focal point. Still some original chairs upstairs too. We sat at the back on the highest tier and thought it was lovely. The staff were really lovely and the food was spot on. Nice beer garden too. Would definitely return

Great pub, very busy however never feels crowded as seating over three levels with only the top floor of the cinema layout needing steps. Great outdoor area on the river. Good food , and plenty of beverages on offer. Staff work hard, always pleasant and efficient
