Lovely venue. Window seat offers a stunning view of the canal. Food is nice but not a very wide choice. After breakfast finishes it's mainly sandwiches, soup and baked potatoes. Microwaved not oven baked. Cakes are nice. The staff are friendly and the shop downstairs sells amazing gifts trinkets and handbags.

Nice shop, great for buying gifts. They have everything from hand-made cosmetics and candles to scarfs, purses, jewelery etc. There's also a coffee shop upstairs.

Great little shop and eatery, The only quibble is with the salad you get with the pannins etc, it consists mostly of greenery , We found 2pieces of tomato and the same of cucumber, and this seems to be the norm, for the extra money it really isn't worth it , 19/6/23 50***** Just had to amend the last review. We went here again yesterday, and I have to say the salad with the meals now amazing, lots of colour and ingredients, The food is always really good and tasty it's now even better with the upgraded salads, thank you

I was at the the 10th Anniversary celebration of Magpies nest which was given in aid of two very deserving pets charities. There must have been 6 Magpies on the roof tonight because they struck gold booking Ain’t misbehavin’ for their commemoration. There must have been two magpies nesting inside because the house was full of joy and eight under our table as our wish for a fabulous evening was fulfilled. The staff were the perfect hosts an d worked tirelessly to look after everyone. Special thanks to Lucy for making me a lovely pot of tea while everybody else was quaffing the two for one cocktails . Magpies nest are a real asset to Stalybridge and a unique brand on the high street . Tonight ran so smoothly. The food and service was top notch and the inevitable raffles, speeches and auction were done discreetly with some cracking prizes given way. It was obvious most people were there to see Natalie Cuifo who has a growing following. A Latin beauty who has retained the girl next door image. Her pitch perfect voice is music to the ears as she entertains . It’s unusual at a dinner event not to have some background chatter but Natalie’s singing and charm had everybody spellbound . There was just a faint melody of people humming or mouthing the words to her repertoire which has been expertly produced and she is ably assisted by dad Stuart and mum Rosie . It’s a family affair as ain t misbehavin’ is the keen to acknowledge. There was only one point of contention for me. One of Natalie’s numbers is “Will you still love me when I m no longer beautiful?” Just like the rocks she sings about in Diamonds are a girls best friend, Natalie has a beauty time could never alter. Congratulations Magpies nest and here’s to the next 10 years.
