Stopped in for a swift pint this afternoon.
The new management have really made this quite a pleasant pub. Particularly they have freshened up the atmosphere with a lot of new artwork and design touches. The place is very tidy and the beer is maintained well. Good array of games also.

What a lovely little gem, it's very rare to find such a lovely old welcoming pub that still maintains that original old English pub vibe. The staff are lovely and the beer is fantastic it feels like a little village pub in a very busy town. There's an open fire too for a cold day I couldn't of enjoy

Good proper boozer!! Dart board (although the doubles and trebles did t seem to work!!), Pool table and really good value Samuel Smith beers and ciders. Love this place. Always pop in when in Stamford.
The Vaults could do with brightening up and making it look a little more inviting.

Visited Stamford for the day and dropped into this pub... twice! Lovely staff, parked next to the beautiful roaring fire and got chatting to the locals. Excellent example of a Sam Smiths pub done right!
We missed the Sunday lunch rush as we arrived after 2:30pm and had the place to ourselves! Cosy pub, lovely fresh food prepared to order and a good range of beers. Would recommend this place.
