Wheeler's Restaurant

This is a neat old place. And when I say old, I mean that this place has been around for a long time. It's got that old welcoming local feel to it, even though I assume that they get a lot of tourists going down 23. Their food wasn't bad at all. I ordered the chicken quasidilla, which was pretty good. They also have a salad bar, which I did not partake in, but it seemed to have a draw. They also serve donuts, which looked pretty good. Going back to that nostalgic vibe, each booth has an old jukebox from way back in the day. It reminds me the old root beer stand days from the 50's or something. Overall, this place is worth checking out if ever passing by.

This place holds some history. I used to come here with family when I was little. Even with recent and continual updates they have keep with their history. Wish they would have redone the old counter for seating, though they did just get new tables and chairs which are super nice. The food is mid but is on par good family diner food. Service is not always the best but they get the job done. They also host cops and doughnuts, which a good donut and a nice cup of coffee is always yummy. You’ll be able to find something to eat here. Trust me they covered their bases. They even have a salad bar.

Being from out of town was very happy to find a restaurant open on a holiday. Our order was taken right away....there were only a few other people in the restaurant. The food came very quickly and were huge portions. The problem I had was getting a 2nd cup of coffee. A waitress actually gave the booth behind us more coffee but didn't even glance our way. Very disappointed that our waitress never even checked on us after dropping our food off.

My wife and I stop in periodically for breakfast when we're in the area. Our meals, mainly breakfast, have been hot and good. I recommend the Wheelers Scramble. It was hearty, tasty, and unlike scrambles elsewhere, it wasn't greasy! Of further note is they now are part of Cops and Donuts and carry a nice selection of those donuts. But get there early as the selection shrinks quickly!
