The Horse & Jockey Restaurant - Stanford in the Vale - Photo album

We came for the live music (by the band The Ukey Dukes) and decided to come for a meal before hand. It was a great evening, fantastic music. The staff were incredibly friendly, polite and helpful, we were very impressed. The lamb shoulder was delicious but the seafood linguini was disappointing, har
This pub is under new management and is on the up. Many improvements have been made and our lovely local pub is returning to the warm, friendly and welcoming place it's been for many years. We are regular customers and appreciate the return to normal and look forward to seeing things getting even be
First time in a year or more eating at the Jockey. The best fish and chips I've eaten in a long time. Service and presentation of food also excellent. Thank you.
Lovely pub and restaurant (accommodation too), scrumptious food 🍲 Scheduled entertainment 🧑🏻‍🎤🎶 lots of seating areas. 🐕 Dog friendly. Slightly high price for food but worth it.
Everything a pub should be: wide selection of drinks, great grub and actually lively on the live music nights, nice crowd and atmosphere.
Stayed over in our motorhome and ate. Great friendly staff. Food portions were too much for our appetites!!! however, bonus points for home made skin on chips like mum used to make. Sadly not as busy as they could be because of the coronation. Your local pub should be supported too.
I’m giving this a 5* review because the effort in keeping customers happy and the potential for this to be a great, off-the-beaten-track get away is huge. The landlord, Dan, is aware of the improvements needed and has a great attitude and fantastic plans for the pub’s future. The overnight stay was
Reasonably large pub, nice food, welcoming and friendly, decent range of beers. Comfy chairs and a wood burning stove. What's not to like! Had a few beers Saturday night then returned Sunday lunch for a tasty roast.
Brilliant food. Friendly and helpful staff good with kids. All items on menu provided as a half portion for half price.
Friendly landlord, great meal and plenty of it. The food could not be faulted especially if you like rare beef which we do. The prices are the best I have seen, well worth a visit and will definitely go to the valentine's evening on the 14/02/23.
Very nice little pub in a quite village. The food was outstanding. Very good entertainment with two men pressing something they called #BoogieBingoLive. Great night.
Attractive pub with pleasant atmosphere and outside seating areas.
Rare find, excellent value, 5* service, lovely food, excellent drinks selection. A very comfy bed, clean room and decent breakfast for a fair price. Well worth a stay.
20/7/2022 Popped in off the cuff as passing for lunch. Best steak and ale pie I have ever had. Both hubby and my food was outstanding. Really lovely pub beautifully decorated and amazing fireplace. Staff very friendly
On Sunday (Jan 30th) at lunchtime we booked in for a family meal, this is our first visit since the new owners took over. The food was excellent well cooked and tasty, but on Sundays it's roasts only the mid week menu is not used. The serving staff were helpful and courteous but above all the meals
I visited the horse and jockey lunchtime today, 9/11/2022 with my elderly mother who suffers from dementia. It was our first time there and what a great pub and fantastic home cooked food. The staff are very friendly and the service was first class. We will definitely be back when I visit my mum nex
