Lovely venue with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. In the current heat wave the inside is a touch too warm with no air con but the lower level is still comfortable. I had a latte and a biscoff waffle. Food tasted amazing with saffron company ice cream, also presented very well on the plate. Coffee was smooth and a good size (had a large). Would definitely recommend trying this maybe after a visit to the near by castle. Parking near the castle and walk down is free on a Sunday.

One of the best full-English breakfasts I’ve had for a long time.
Only recently opened after an extensive interior overhaul, the place has been beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and is great for both couples and also families with young children (they even have a play area).
If you are in the area I would recommend giving this place a try!

I had a Hen Do celebration at Bear and Eden and it was fantastic! The staff were so friendly and accommodating! Gemma and her team made sure we had everything we needed and went to special lengths to cater for gluten free guests. The afternoon teas are such great value for money, they look lovely and are delicious! We all had a great time! Highly recommend to host a celebration at this venue or just to pop in for the wonderful food!

Beautiful place with great coffee and a large children's play area, making it exceptionally family friendly. Food is great (festive menu also very nice!) and staff are really pleasant. There are healthier options and some vegan things (including always at least one of the cakes on offer, which are invariably delicious). There is a downstairs and an outside area for those who wish to avoid the hubbub of the main children's playing area. Unfortunately no lifts/ramps, but staff super helpful with helping with buggies, not sure what wheelchair access would be like though (outdoors area would definitely be ok).
Parking on the high street outside is limited to 30 minutes I think but there is parking at the castle that would do well and is very close.
I've been here loads of times and I highly recommend it. I especially like the half timbered building and the exposed beams throughout, which lend a really cozy feel. Right now there is a splendid Christmas tree too! Personally, I really appreciate the community noticeboard by the till, it feels like this place is trying to foster a sense of local community, which is lovely.
Also useful that you can order to take away via their website (though it seems there are glitches when I try to do this from my phone!). Looking forward to loads more coffees here :-)
First time visiting.
We took our 11 month old who loved it upstairs with the kiddy play area.
The food was very nice,
Prawn and avocado sandwich was freshly made.
Chicken pesto pannini was tasty.
The kid liked the kiddy picnic lunch.
All in all enjoyable time and nice lunch

Stopped by for lunch with a friend visiting from Norway. Neither of us know the area so thought we would try it out.
Busy Saturday lunchtime but not a long wait for food. Beautiful building and a very comfy sofa.
Really pleasant atmosphere. Ploughman's sandwiches were delicious, especially the bread. Staff were friendly and polite. We shall be back!
We had quite a large group for my daughters birthday and Bear & Eden were very accommodating. The food and service was excellent and we all had a great time. Great for families with little ones. Highly recommend!
Lovely coffee shop in Stansted Mountfitchet, generous portions and nice seating outside when the sun is out. Will be visiting again if in the area.
Spent the afternoon here for a family christening party. The food was really good, pot of tea, tasty sandwiches, scotch eggs and jam, cream and scones. Yum. The staff were delightful. Area upstairs has toys for small children to play with. It is also dog friendly.
Highly recommend this cafe! I had the chicken, avo and halloumi salad which was lovely. Partner and I then shared a fruit scone which was still warm by the time we ate it. Definitely going back

We had cheese scones with chutney. It really worked and was very tasty. Excellent pot of tea.
We visited on a Friday afternoon and had a great time. We had a delicious sandwich and Panini, pot of tea and cake. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the place is very relaxing and cosy. Good choice of food including breakfast until noon and lunches afterwards (Sunday from 1pm). Will definitely be back in future!

Friendly staff, perfect play area with lots of toys for the little ones, really good choice of food on the menu, AMAZING CAKE CHOICE and AMAZING milkshakes and iced latès!

I went to Bear and Eden and it’s such a pleasure with my little boy. Child friendly , amazing staff. I think the server was called Sandy, such a lovely lady. Delicious ice cream !
