Went for my cousins birthday drink up. Great atmosphere, wish pubs in London were like it. Warm friendly staff and most importantly the kids in our group were welcomed...Will pop in again next time in Brum visiting the rellies

Booked a table with my 9 year old Son for a Groupon voucher meal - 2 starters & 2 skillets. The lady behind the bar was lovely and very friendly. Really helpful and couldn't do enough for us. This was our 1st visit to The Hazelwell and we will be back 100%. Both our chicken wing starters and sizzling steak meals were lovely. My Son asked if we can go back again soon for a burger and Appletizer ... he was over the moon when he saw his favourite drink stocked šš

We recently visited with a friend and the 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals.
Like most, we are feeling the pinch, so when we got a meal for 3 for under Ā£40 we were delighted.
We took full advantage of the special offers, ordering:

It was decent and for Ā£15 we couldnāt complain about the starters at all. The āHot Messā was interestingā¦hash brown bites, cheese sauce, Chilli Heatwave Doritos, Frank's Red Hot Sauce, jalapeƱos and spring onions. Very enjoyable. We really liked the mushrooms and all the chicken was tender and cooked well.
Is it fancy or ground breaking? No. But it was tasty, satisfying and we still have Ā£Ā£ for a few drinks whilst we were there.
Changing the rating as the atmospheres was more lively and it felt more welcoming as a whole.

This is local to us so we go for a convenient and cheap drink. Weāve been more recently in an attempt to save money. We have been happy with most visits. We were however very disappointed when we arrived at 5:30pm on NYE and was nearly turned away because it was a ticket only event. The manager said sheād let us off and let us in as we werenāt going to be there all night. We appreciated that, but as the night continued it became very clear that it wasnāt a ticketed night. My father goes there every day and even he didnāt know about/have/was asked for a ticket. It appeared to be a tactic by management to keep people out. When we left at 10pm the āadultā side of the pub was empty and what was occupied had as much atmosphere as a morgue. I felt sorry for the entertainer. This used to be the place to be. My friends and I have made so many fun memories there and danced the night away to the weekly entertainment.
Now I canāt believe I used to spend every weekend there; itās a shadow of its former self and itās a real shame. No reflection of the staff, just the atmosphere.
First timer here and I definitely will be going again, sizzling steak with mushrooms, onion rings etc chips and creamy peppercorn sauce. Walking into the pub I felt a little uneasy but by the time we reached the bar (3-4 steps) we were made to feel welcome by the man at the bar. Bar staff were courteous and couldn't do enough for us.
Came here for food and the service was good and quick. Food was really nice too. Sue served me and was really friendly and helped with questions I had. Would definitely recommend.

Visited for a quick drink & a bite to eat, bar staff were friendly and welcoming. Management were pleasant, nothing was too much trouble. Our food came & was absolutely outstanding for pub grub, would definitely return & recommend!
Great atmosphere in here this evening with good TV screens and everyone watching England ladies winning the Euro final.
I had a veggie Lasagne with side salad followed by a banoffee desert plus an Americano. Very reasonable priced.
Bar staff extremely friendly.
The only thing stopping an extra star was I was hoping to have the veggie Halloumi but it wasn't available.
Good carpark at front or even on the road if necessary.
Visited here yesterday when we Googled nearby restaurants after visiting Bourneville. Got two meals for Ā£10 and the drinks were inexpensive too! Chatty friendly staff and other customers were lovely too! Would recommend.

Popped into the Hazelwell on Saturday evening for a quick tea. We were immediately greeted by a really friendly chap behind the bar, told to take a seat where we liked and to come back and order. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals that were brought out by a delightful lady and we were checked on twice. A pub with a lovely atmosphere, really great staff and food. Would highly recommend and we look forward to returning again soon.

Night out on a Thursday reasonably priced food and drinks a pub I have used for 40yrs on and off
popped in for some dinner after a day out with the bf, never been before but wasnāt expecting much as thereās hundreds of pubs in Birmingham but the food was perfect and cheap, 3 sides and two mains(mains including chips) for Ā£27 + 2 drinks! Quick service aswell
Stunning building with interesting history, well maintained too. Staff were super nice and helpful (lad in his twenties? with brownish ginger hair i believe) Wanted to leave him a tip but didnāt have cash:(
