Review The Church House Inn - Stokeinteignhead

Lovely pub in a fabulous little village. Staff fantastic lots of choice of food and drinks . Lots of locally sourced options too. We had the steak and kidney pudding it was jam packed with meat my partner really struggled to finish it . I had the minted lamb burger which was the nicest burger I have ever had and could not finish it. My daughter got the child’s sausage and chips with beans which was a large portion too. Highly recommend!

Loved it here! Interesting specials & very good menu. Good value for money when comparing to the general area, plus excellent tasty & good quality food. Booked to go again when family visit. Dog friendly in certain areas. 10/10.

Found this lovely place by chance. So pleased we did, lunch time meal we both had was superb. Not your typical pub fare just very good home cooked food which was delicious. Great staff and just an enjoyable lunch time.. We will be back as soon as we can.

A quaint village pub with plenty of space for diners in the cosy bar or restaurant area. Good range of beers and other drinks and a tempting menu plus a good range of daily specials are available. We had olives and bread as an appetiser, followed by a delicious tuna steak with salad and coleslaw for me and one of the biggest steak puddings ever for my husband. We couldn’t manage dessert! Lovely.

Lovely thatched roof and oak beamed pub in the heart of the lovely country village of Stokeinteignhead on the outskirts of Shaldon and Torquay. The a la carte menu is very good and supplemented by a lovely Specials board. The real ale beers are beautifully kept and there is also a good selection of lagers and ciders on tap. Good wine and spirits selection also. Our fish pie from the Specials board was excellent, and I would defy anyone to come away feeling hungry. First class all round, dog friendly, a must visit if you're in the area.

My Wife and myself called in for Sunday lunch, we both had traditional Roast Beef with all the trimmings washed down with a couple of soft drinks. The service was swift and efficient and the food was great. The only downside, (and this is purely down to personal preference) is that they sell bottles of Pepsi, not bottles of Coca Cola (The Real Thing) Ha ha.

A very old premises that provided an atmosphere list in many newer pubs. The car park was not terribly large so arriving early in the evening is advisable. Very friendly and accommodating satff welcomed us immediately with very helpful direction for seating. Food was superb and very generous, delivered by polite waitress who checked with genuine concern for our comfort. A quiet and lovely atmosphere made for a very pleasant evening. Thank you.

It's been a while since we visited the Church House, but we were not disappointed. Excellent home cooked food and a good selection of craft ales. Served by lovely staff in the cosy rustic atmosphere of this historic pub.

Lovely, little village pub. Great menu and specials board. Food was off a high standard and reasonably priced. Lots of parking and nice beer garden . Staff very friendly. Lamb burger with sun dried tomatoes was delicious 😋

Just wanted to say how much we rate this place! We first found the pub last year and loved the feel of it! Olde-worldy, stacks of character and a really cosy family-friendly, pet-friendly environment, nestled inside a chocolate box village. Visited twice again this year and now we wouldn't dream of coming on holiday without paying a visit to the Church House Inn. We had dinner on our first visit this year and lunch in the beer garden the second time. Food is to die for. Really generous portions, and the vegetable options come in a sperate bowl (with crisp, juicy mangetout! ) so as not to overface yourself! Starters are also completely gorgeous and we were impressed with the baguette lunch too! The staff were faultless with their service as always - attentive, pleasant, and incredibly welcoming. I also have to mention how spotless the toilets were, especially with needing to use the baby changing facility - we even had Bayliss & Harding hand cream to finish!! This place has thought of everything to make a visit memorable and enjoyable. We love the Church House Inn See you next year!

The steak and kidney pudding is the best in the universe!!

A very average roast with over cooked veg and burnt Yorkshire. Fudge cake was lovely (out of a packet). Service was fast and efficient. Choice very limited. Overall won't hurry back, but ok.
